Anyone else notice that Soundwave , Wheeljack and Ratchet Deluxe and Megatron Voyager R.I.D. fit more into the First Edition line then the R.I.D. line.

My argument is they do not include the clear gimmicky weapons and perhaps all figures that are getting their first release under the R.I.D. line will be similiar with remolds including gimmick weapons and clear remolding.

Just food for thought for those thinking all R.I.D. stuff will be inferior.

Chances are though Bulkhead and Optimus Prime FE Voyagers will not be released under the R.I.D. line.

Here is hoping for variants of Vehicon and Zombie Cliffjumper although they probally will not make it out under the R.I.D. line.

I think it has more to do with the fact we don't have existing designs to cloud our vision.
I dont think RID is bad just that FE is better

Gimmicky weapons and clear plastic seem to be a Voyager thing.

There is a redeeming aspect to the RID Bumblebee in that because it's a bit different it means FE Bee can be your default Bee and then Hotshot will feel more like a new unique toy by being a repaint of the probably less desirable RID bee.

The good thing about that new bee is he is a little more child friendly I suppose.

I guess. More on topic though, I noticed that about Wheeljack, Soundwave, and Megatron, yes. I don't personally like Ratchet, think he matches BB and CJ in aesthetic, an aesthetic I personally dont like, but think they fit in with the FE line quite nicely

Are RID bees headlights sonically welded or glued or screwed in ?

As I think I might like to swap them with Hotshot's if they are removable.

They're held in place with little tabs. There might be some glue, or you might be able to just pull 'em out.

I do not think Ratchet fits with the First Edition figures. Ratchet looks like a solid figure, don't get me wrong. He just lacks the engineering brilliance that the First Edition figures have.

Megatron does not fit in, because his arm artculation kinda sucks (no bicep swivels) and his shoulder pads arent even connected to his arms, making some poses look really stupid.

Now we have pics of Knockout, and other than the mis-transformation he looks like a slam dunk. At least his torso isn't false like CJ's.

I think the RID has it's promise, and I am sure all of are looking foward to it reguardless of recent events. I just wish that since Hasbro feels "Mechtech" is the way to go, they could have at least made the weapons lock in place like on the DOTM voyagers. Personally, I think all Mechtech weapons should have a locking feature no matter which size class the figure is.

Or they can do the smart thing and omit the "Mechtech" gimmick and whatever money was save from producing those could go towards imrovments to the figures.

Knockout's torso SHOULD have been false, because that flat, devoid-of-detail plank he's got for a chest looks like shit.

"mechtech" its a waste of money for improvements nd paint apps on figures. A couple of the mechtech weapons are cool dnt get me wrong its jus id would like to hav better painted nd engineered figs. Also what happned to rubber wheels? I loved rubber wheels on the figs nd thats gone... I dnt care what wave they come in as long as im able to buy them : )
I lov prime better then animated, energon, armada etc.
