    Hey guys,

Didn't want to post this until I registered for Botcon, and knew I was going. I have a room reserved at The Dolphin (the hotel connected to the Swan, where the convention is being held) for Wednesday night thru Sunday. I can split this with up to 3 other people.

I will likely be leaving Friday night for a wedding I have to attend, so there will be room for 4 on Friday and Saturday nights.

    Anyone interested?

    Thanks,
    Silvershot

$135 with internet included (It's really a $125 room with a $10 services fee, and I'd be paying that anyway for internet) is outrageous? We havn't had that low since 2005.

Speaking of 2005 I would be all in favor of a return to Frisco, TX. I say it again, BEST HOTEL EVER for BotCon. Suites, and that kind of deluxe breakfast, for $125 a night? YES PLEASE!

Beer? Hell, I had them mixing the two frozen drinks...margs and something else. All I know is, it was delish.

Hotel is set at being ~ $205.75 per night.
    205.75 x 4 nights (Thursday June 24 - Sunday June 27) = $823 for the four nights.

'S what we're paying at the Swan.

Ah, you got the latecomer rate then. Yes, that's a lot more. I have the original rate.

Sadly, yes .... but cramming with 9 people means we only pay a little over $100 for the whole time.

Actually its the original rate, it was booked back in Jan. You get 2 ppl per room then after that you can do 2 more at $25 per person. So that takes the rate from $125 to $175. Add $10 resort fee and taxes and you get the $205 a night cost.

Ah, you see, that's where you made the mistake. You actually told them it was going to be more than 2 people in the room. I've *never* done that. The idea that the hotel somehow deserves an extra $25 a day per person when they aren't doing any additional work whatsoever and aren't losing any extra space is ludicrous. And getting enough room keys is as simple as stating that you'd like the extras because you have friends who will need to access your room.

I'm with you but. . .. To argue the hotel's POV. More people use more AC, more water, dirty the room more which requires cleaning, and use/request more towels which has to be laundered. I don't know if it's $25 worth but it's not $0.

I could probably debate many of these points, but meh.

When they offer a reasonable charge in between $0 and $25, I'll consider it. But no, $25 is ludicrous.
