This just came in my e-mail from TFCC:

"I have good news and some almost good news:

In honor of the boxed sets arriving from China Thursday, we posted the box art for this year's convention set at BotCon.com.

The almost good news is that the Breakaway figures came in the same shipment but...we won't be able to get them out before BotCon. We will have some with us for sale in RI. We will be shipping all the free ones when we return from RI and they should all be in the mail by July 13th. Thanks for your patience.

BTW, the bag has a misprint on them and it says BotCon 2007 which is not correct. The Breakaway figures have nothing to do with the BotCon figures, only they were produced at the same time.

    Thanks for your support!

    Brian"

I read this on other boards, they seem pisssed. Why? More than 1/2 of the Primus packages are from Club members. so isn't that like selling them at the Club Store?

    Bummer. :(

FP should take the Breakaways to the convention and deliver them there.

EDIT: yeah, yeah. I know it's probably a logistic nightmare, but one can hope.

Hey man, no problem; glad to contribute :)

Remember, not all of us who are receiving the figure are going to Botcon.

I think the people at TFCC ant Botcon are great and do a fantastic job (do you here the "but" coming?), but I'm a little disheartened that the TFCC exclusive member freebie will be sold at Botcon to the general public before non-attendee TFCC members can get it, and TFCC members who are attending probably won't want to pay for one when they may get it in a few weeks for free. I guess the trade off for it being free is that we will have to wait 2 -3 weeks more to get it.

    <Sigh>

Still looking forward to it, though.

Since Pete stuck his head in here, maybe we can get him to answer a question for us.

Pete, what's the justification for not giving us any remolded parts on the club figure this year?

I thought that was cleared up last year after the angsty brouhaha when Landquake was revealed. Reportedly, it was a misunderstanding between Pete and Brian in the early days of the Club, resulting in Pete erroneously stating that years 2-5's freebies would definitely have remolds. In actuality, it was something that was explored, but which turned out not to be financially feasible.

Personally, I'm still holding onto a sliver of hope for the torso bot -- at least for the combined mode noggin.

Hey! I didn't say that they should only be delivered at BC07. If a club member is going to the convention, then it would be cool to be able to get his/her toy there. If the member isn't going to the convention, he/she is still going to get his toy via snail mail.

Which is why I thought it's probably a logistic nightmare. ;)

Thanks for asking FP about it though! I knew you wouldn't let us down. :thumb

IIRC it was Rik who posted that. Other than that, your explanation matches my own recolection on the matter.

Sure, I'm certainly not trying to put words in your mouth :)  However, I'd hate for a member who is not attending the convention to have his/her toy accidentally sold or given out by mistake (not saying that it would, but it's certainly feasible). I'd also think it would be really cool if I were a member to also be able to pick up the toy at the 'con. :D  (I hope that clarifies what I attempted to say earlier :) )

That being all being said, I'm still a bit miffed as to how someone will be able to purchase the toy at the con before a member who isn't attending the 'con. Pardon me for feeling just a bit more left out since I'm not able to attend Botcon . . . perhaps my membership to TFCC isn't as important? The last I checked, my money is just as green as everyone else's (what money I have anyways :lol ).

    :lol

    Got it. :)

I agree with you on that. I can imagine myself during Botcon 07 with the urge to buy the toy, but with my inner voice reminding me "you will get it later in the mail".
