I'm wondering since I'm going through my older stuff, finding a few select pieces to sell since I need some emergency cash. I have a G1 (technically it's not G2 even though people say it is) Thunderclash, it's complete, no box, instructions or anything, little sticker wear but nothing severe. I see these things on ebay at times for upwards of $600-$700 even for a loose but perfect one. Anyone know what one in fairly good but not perfect condition goes for?

I think you might be mistaken... Thunderclash has never been a high priced toy. Wasn't that long ago they were well under $100 MISB. I think I saw someone (maybe on another board) recently post about picking one up in loose complete condition for about $40.

Edit: Apparently it was here, and it was $25... Shipped.... http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/transformers-toy-discussion/262885-g1-european-exclusives-4.html

I'd be very surprised to see one go for anything close to $600/700.

I'd suspect however that $24-40 is on the low side.

They currently go for between $60 to $200 MISB. (and the ones with a BIN for $200 or more on ebay just sit there) $600/700 for an unboxed one? Very unlikely.

Loose but complete, I'd say $40 dollars is about right actually. Like rework said, it just isn't a toy that commands a high price, even unopened. I guess it's the colours that make it undesirable to most, even with the Botcon set and these IDW issues featuring old Euro stuff.

    Ebay:
We are talking about the mold that later became a K*B Toys exclusive Machine Wars Optimus Prime, right?

No way in Hades could one (loose) go for 6 C-Notes, unless the buyer was clueless or worse, so rich he didn't care.

I think I sold my thunderclash for 70. He was loose complete with box.

    Maybe he meant Thunderwing.

Still not worth quite that much anyway.

Probably not since he references the whole G1 vs G2 arguement over those between generations Euro releases.

Knock a zero off and you might be in a more realistic price range. Thunderclash was never that popular a character (though I love him to bits)

Honestly I was suprised too, but I only said 600-700 because after an ebay search the only 2 thunderclash listings that came up were that price range. I knew that sounded a little odd, which is exactly why I asked you guys. I've just honestly never come across a sale of one so I had absolutely no idea what it was worth. Thanks though guys, perhaps I'll try and get 40 or 50 for it, would do just fine.
