Long Haul has been confirmed as NOT being in the movie. That Soundwave picture is pretty good though.
I hadn't seen the Soundwave one before, that's a cool one. And though Long Haul isn't in the movie (though I think I missed where it was stated definitely that we weren't getting him and his buddies) and that is just fanart, it's also been confirmed that Josh Nizzi, who created the pic, is now working on the movie as a designer/illustrator.
I haven't seen that Soundwave pic before. Looks awesome. That vehicle is what Soundwave needs to be. A helicopter doesn't fit the name. A Stealth Bomber fits better with Blitzwing IMO. That vehicle has Soundwave's name written all over it.
Yeah... I've seen both of these before. The Soundwave is pretty much in the style that I would have liked the movie TFs to look. That is to say not like a G1 cartoon, but also not like a monstrous buglike mess of exposed pseudo-organic scrapmetal. Some people don't realize that there's a difference, or that there is a middle ground in between. I'm not a big fan of the Long Haul design. zmog
Actually that looks more like the boxy designs that Michael Bay was referring to. It doesn't look messy enough to be consistent with the other Decepticon designs
The one whom did Long Haul (forget his name off the top of my head) is currently working as an artist for TF2 I believe.
The fact that all Cat mining trucks are yellow instead of green was a dead giveaway for me, but the 'bot looked so cool I wanted to hope anyway. Ditto for Soundwave, although he obviously doesn't have enough crap hanging off his body at strange angles to possibly be a movie character.
Well said, and I couldn't agree more. It's a nice compromise of updated designs with a classic bit of blocky goodness that actually look like... something.
