Just wondering if anyone here uses skins on their consoles. If so does anyone have any reviews on them? I've been looking at some of the ones by Gamer Graffix for my 360 but I'm not too sure. Do they come off without any residue? Do they do any damage to the consoles?

I used to. I had two for my DS Lite, but I removed them. Getting off the sticky stuff took forever.

wouldnt a skin on the 360 work kinda like insulation? so it would retain heat just a bit better?

I dont know, I'm actually asking.

I know I wouldnt be comfortable putting anything on the system. especially not when 30% of the ventilation holes are covered by a damn hard drive already.

I have the Gears of War 2 skin and face plate for my Xbox 360. It has cut out holes in the correct place to not obscure the vents and its very thin so i'm sure it wouldn't really act like a blanket and store any additional heat.

Its removable and leaves next to no residue, and if any is left a damp paper towel removes it very easily. The only down side of the skins is that once they are on, you shouldn't take them off unless you want them off for good, as the adhesive isn't enough to apply multiple times.

My 360 looks awesome and would easily reccomend them if you want it to brand your favourite game or make it have a distinctive look. :)

Thanks for the info. I'm planning to get one of the ones by Gamer Graffix.

Here's the one I'm looking at:

Skins that you stick on? no.

I do use the plastic protective inserts for my DS and my PSP and a face plate on my XB360. Got a Megatron on my DS and Skywarp on my PSP. 360 has a Autobot logo on fire.. wanted a con, but Autobot is the only one I could find...

I use a plastic shell thingy for my 360. I think it's pretty neat.

Though, I am a bit biased, since it's Transformers based.

Thats what I thought, I'd seen those clear plastic face plates which you use with interchangable paper graphics and seriously considered the TF ones I saw.

As to adhesive skins, no, I wouldn't. I have enough problems getting stickers on a toy, let alone huge sheets onto a console.

The faceplate is worth it, IMO. The plastic is nice a sturdy, the graphics are nice and it has the Decepticon symbol on the button.

You get a ton of graphics, too. Megatron, Starscream, Skywarp, Soundwave and Scorponok (all with alternate alt. mode inserts) plus the Constructicons and Devastator.

Ok, here's the version I have. There's also an Autobot version:

The inserts. You get 12 total, including the one already in the plate:

I'd be all over that set just for the Decepticon button. Where can I buy it?

I bought the skin in the link for my nephew for his birthday in May, it's reuseable, and so far I haven't seen any sticker residue, still in great shape too:

I skin almost all my hand held devices to prevent scratching. Most from DecalGirl : Stylish Protection For Your Gadgets! None that I've gotten from there have left any residue when I remove them and they are really durable. I highly recommend them.

I only have a skin on my PS3. Not sure why anyone would want to put on a skin just to take it off and ruin it......keeps my PS3 well protected.
