Just checking around to see who owns a vintage car. I personally am working on a 1963 Plymouth Valiant, anyone else? Also when I can gather up enough money I'm going to get to California and buy a 66 tempest and fix it up for my Mother, and make it just like the one she used to have. Here's a pic of what my car looks like after I took the seats out):

1979 Camaro Z28, though i would use the term "working on" very loosely. i bought it a couple years ago with a glint in my eye and big dreams. so far i've yet to finish it, though the new 383 should be out of the shop soon.

I sadly don't and wish I did. I have been a huge fan of the classic American muscle cars. No funds, and no proper place to store them during the winter is why I dont have one.

    Also, :useless

Nope. But I can drive a '74 260zx any time I want. Maybe I'll even inherit it one day.

    '75 Corvette Stingray (convertible)

Don't know if we'll be keeping it much longer, though... My dad needs a job, and it's the only thing we have besides the house that's worth anything.

I'm pretty sure it's in writing that I get it if/when he dies, though.

Speaking of vintage cars: I am really interested in getting a Datsun fairlady Z.
Does anyone knows if it a gas gazzler or not ?

1979 280zx. Also, to answer the above question, they are pretty good on gas. They only have a 2.8 straight 6, but they run pretty darn good when tuned correctly.

I don't personally own a classic car at the moment. I've had two though, my first car was a 1971 Mustang, and then a couple of years later I had a 1972 Camaro. Wish I had never gotten rid of it.

After that I went to a 01 Mustang GT, then traded that in on my 04 Cobra.

I really loved that car, but talked myself into trading that in on a Mazda 3. Had it for a year and then traded for my 07 Magnum R/T.

Now my wife on the other hand does have a nice vintage car. She has a 73 Nova SS Hatchback. She's been working on restoring it for about 5 years now. The guy who was supposed to paint it finally finished it last Christmas after it was in his possesion for almost two years. Only things that needs to be finished is the interior, exhaust, and wheels/tires.

If you're talking about a 240z, I think they do alright. I passed on one a few years ago that was in nice shape for $1500. Glad I passed now though, a friend bought it and a couple of weeks later he had an electrical fire that almost took the whole car with it.

Fairlady is simply Japan's name for the 2 and 3 whatever series. I could pull off my 280ZX emblems and slap Fairlady on it and technically it would be ok.

How old must a vehicle be to be considered "vintage"?

I uaed to have one of these babies, it looked showroom when I bought it, the paint had been fully restored and the engine only had 60,000 miles on it:

I had to sell it when my first son was born...

I used to race people quite a bit and was only beaten by an RX-8 and a souped up 68 Mustang.
