Well, looks like I just saved myself $130.

i have a dead pixel and the store i got it at didn't have any to replace it with within the 7 days. Its a white one so it dosn't bother me since it is in the far corner of the screen.

Nope! My DS Lite is perfect, with no dead pixels or broken hinges. Besides, even if there were broken parts, didn't Nintendo say they'd fix the DS for free?

my first DS had a problem with one of the pixles displaying a diffrent color then it should be displaying. (not a dead or stuck pixle mind you) I sent it in to get it fixed. Two days later it arrived at my door with no problem. Great costomer support from Nintendo there. :)

Mine is fine and dandy thus far. weak diagonals is relaly a temporary thing until you get used to the mashier buttons. Once you're used to them they're great. Especially for games that require lots of mashing like mario & luigi partners in time. Also great for Mario kart if you snake.

Mine's been dandy thus far. :)

However, I'm also very gentle with it, so as to prevent damage to the hinge/lids/touch screen.

IGN is just being parinoid, taking every problem people hear as major issues.

My DS Lite has a small crack on the left hinge. It plays and works fine but I guess I'm just picky. I'm thinking about calling Nintendo to have it replaced or fixed. Only if its free that is.

Mine had a cracked hinge and a big red-colored dead pixel on the touch screen. After two calls to Ninty, they sent me a new one without charging me $50 to repair it.

i am hopeing all of you with a NDSL didn't already have a NDS. I t would be like buying a Pink GBASP because it now has a brighter light. POINTLESS. And there are defects in every band of elecronic device. i know this because everyone i get has one, may it be minor or major. the chance of having a defect are less than you having an ideal NDS. that is, unless your luck is like mine.

Same here. I just don't see a reason to get the DS Lite if I already have a DS that works just fine. If my DS ever DOES have a problem, though, I'll probably get a Lite.
