Anyone here collect gold or silver coins?

    Just curious if anyone here collects silver or gold coins. If you do, do you keep them in cases or keep them loose.

    Ive got a few silver coins. One is on a little card thing, the others are wraped many times over and kept safe in a jar. The only ones that are loose are the ones like the Mercury dimes and such.

    my dad collects them. he just keeps them however he gets them. at one time he had like 20 OZ., and I was like "dad, you've got more than a pound of gold!" as long as they're kept in one place and don't slide around and get scratched up, I don't think it would hurt any if they were loose.

    I've bought and sold those tiny swiss gold bars(1g, 2.5g, 5g). Gold really is addicting. I started having visions of converting all my assets into nothing but gold. There's a certain romance to the idea. I even wanted to carry them around and use them for currency:lol

    My dad collects coins like a mad man. And these State Quarters ae the bane of his existence. All he ever talks about are those things. Worse thing is my wife works at a bank so he likes to ask if she gets new quarters in. He is as bad as me with toys.
