I noticed that the palm of Wreck-Gar's right hand has a visible stress mark, which I assume was caused by the handle of his axe. Just to make sure it's not a factory defect, I had him hold the axe in his left hand for a change and, wouldn't you know, there was a stress mark after I took the axe out. Should I be worried about his hands splitting in two in future? :(

Eek! Just checked mine and yeah. This figure has seriously been a let down for me. First a horn broke straight out of the packaging and now this.

Probably not. You get a thin stress line during the first time putting the weapon in his hands, but that's just the plastic stretching out to accommodate the grip. Afterwards, the stress mark doesn't get any worse at all, and it's only ever visible on the inside of the hand, not through to the backs of the knuckles. So it's not being stressed much at all.

Stress marks aren't anything to worry about inherently, that's just the plastic adapting to the slightly variable tolerances present in toys (ie, they're not perfect). It's only if they get worse that there's something wrong that should be worried about.

Just checked mine, didn't see any. Don't really mess around with Wreck-Gar too much, but thanks for the heads up.

    Oh, God DAMN!!!!

One of Wreck-Gar's handlebars broke off now, just like starscream-99. I've only had him out of the package for a few hours! In fact, the second handlebar has also started to crack. Christ, why is this the one time where I didn't keep the receipt? :mad

Mine is fine, but I've only transformed him a few times. I try to be really careful.

Sorry to see the breakage in that pic!

You post made it like you were implying that it was the US imported one that was prone to the problem (since there'd really be no else for you to mention where they were carded from). He was simply saying that he had one from London that had the problem as well, so it's not just a U.S. import thing.

He didn't say or imply that you called him or his toys out personally.

but i just answered his thread question.

Anyone getting stress marks on their Wreck-Gar's hands?

i wasn't implying anything. just saying the only one that has stress marks on my toys is the us carded one. other than that the ones i bought locally are ok.

    alright? alright.

Two bought in Canada, and one United one here. All have gotten stress marks from holding the weapon. I'm worried about none of them (handlebar breakage, on the other hand, I cut off the offending nubs immediately).

It has nothing to do with where they're bought. They're all manufactured in the same factories under the same conditions. Tolerance issues are simply luck of the draw.

    The handlebars?

There's a really obvious bump on the handlebars that's meant to lock them in place in vehicle mode. Unfortunately, dislodging them creates too much stress at their mounting points, which eventually crack off.

Just slice the nub clean off with a knife, and you'll have no further problems.

    If you're asking about the hands, they're a non-issue.

Well, the good news is that I managed to superglue the broken piece back into place and now Wreck-Gar's as good as new. I did, however, decide to take mx-01 archon's advice and trim the handlebar pegs because they're far too tight. I also did the same for the orange pegs on his pelvis, which were even tighter and risked shattering his crotch in future. Any potential Wreck-Gar owners might want to keep this in mind.

An answer would've been: "Yes, I have one with stress marks too"

Anything outside of that was either typing to type or meant to give further infromation.

It's like me saying, "One of my 5 dogs is sick. It's the White one, and all the others are brown", and then someone saying asking, "So you think it's a white dog-only illness?", and then I go, "Uhhhh NO! I was just saying my dog's sick." - If that's the case, then why'd I post the colors?

Sorry for people giving you too much credit and thinking that the rest of your post was more than key-terrets.

    Alright? Alright.

Anyways, I looked at my Wreck-Gar last night, and no stress marks. Honestly though, it could be because I literally Transformed him to bot mode, stuck the weapon in his hand, and never touched him again when he went on display.

For a problem like this, would doing something liek coating the inner hand with nail polish to reinforce it help?
