I'm not from SLC, but I've been there 20+ times for business.

For clothes and apparel you have Park City in the mountains (I think that's what it's called) and another mall in the heart of the city (where a planetarium is, but that won't be very helpful).

There are also Mormon Churches around if that interests you. I think posting in the Utah Transformers sightings thread might help or just messaging on of the posters there.

I’d say for downtown SLC the main attraction would be the LDS (Mormon) temple, visitor center and the surrounding area known as temple square which also includes the LDS Conference Center. There are free tours available. I think they just did a huge remodel on the shopping center/mall in that area as well. That's the only thing I can think of that is pretty unique to that area.

Dran0n's from Lehi, which I think is about 45 minutes from SLC. He might be able to help.

I'm from Lehi, but that's 25 minutes south of SLC. Used to live there as well.

There's a few malls up in SLC. Got City Creek, the huge-ass mall that just opened up.
Also got the Gateway center, which is pretty cool. For shopping.

We have a pretty neat planetarium in the Gateway. I'd also consider driving over to Lehi for Thanksgiving Point, which is really cool. Also go to Rio Grande Cafe, pretty bitching Mexican restaurant. Concert scene is pretty good, if you're into it.

That's the SLC experience for me. Also got a ToysRus in there for toy needs.

Boom, what did I tell you.

I'd definitely go to Thanksgiving Point. It's been years since I went there. It's cool

I just saw this thread, I only go there for skiing/snowboarding, but as a NYC resident, I LOVE the fast food chains like Golden Corrral and In N Out. We don't have those here.

Got lots of those here in Utah for sure...

It'd be a long bike ride to Thanksgiving Point, but worth checking out if you can.

Sorry to bump a year old thread... but i think this should work again

Im travelling again to Salt Lake City next week. Last year i visited a couple of places so i know how to move around (Trax and bike FTW!)

Does anyone knows about USPS postal offices? I need to mail a small package upon arrival and im looking for a few close to my hotel (im staying a few blocks from the Gateway Mall) or close to a Trax station?

What about cool places to visit, eat, etc?

Both places looks cool, but saddly im limited by time to midtown around City Creek

However, Im doing a Trax/Bike tour from Draper, all the way north back to midtown, checking the different malls, and convenient stores (Walmart, Target) in Union Park, as well Sugarhouse, the Fashion Place, etc.

Have you been on the Chinatown?
