These are the 3rd, 4th and 5th customs I had done this past week with a process I call Wrap-bashing. Not quite as good as digi-bashing. But they are WIP's that one day I hope to paint, and work on. Sorry about the pics again since this was my first time with a digital camera. My occupation is a dispatcher for a taxicab company and I had planned to call the first custom "Fare-ride". But things decided to go another way. My Best friend talked me into calling him Streetwise. Its not as far off as you would think. Our Police Department expedites taxicabs for Sting ops and drug, and supenas. So I just use him as an undercover police officer, that can change his paint scheme to a police paint scheme as one of his special abilities, which is an ability from my Transformers: RVU fanfic, which I hope to get to soon. I created 2 ficticious cab companies, Memory Lane Taxi [Black & White] (for the ones I had as a child) and A2B Cab [yellow] (for the ones I did not). The models I used were Subaru Impreza's and Scion xB since those 2 are the only full size 4 door vehicles. I didnt realize until recently, so many taxicab names were available for my use. Streetwise, Kickback, Pinpointer and soon to create Overcharge a homage for the Battle Taxi's in "City of Steel" (G1 2nd season episode). So here is my Taxicab Alternator Fleet: 40 - Kickback - Decepticon - Memory Ln Taxi -Scion xB "Friend is another word for fool" 72 -Overcharge - Decepticon - A2B Cab - Subaru Impreza 73 - Streetwise - Autobot - Memory Ln Taxi - Subaru Impreza "You have to know where you are to know what to do" 105 - Pinpointer - Autobot - A2B Cab - Scion xB Streetwise.... Kickback... I didnt take too many since I want to redo him... Pinpointer, the targetmaster partner of Crosshairs (Sedgwick Co. Sheriff) Streetwise and Kickback front-side Streetwise and Kickback back alt modes Slightly different transformations for my Pinpointer
I have to say that the Scion mold looks really neato in yellow! These are interesting! Keep up the good work!
LOL I may have to try that Alt Transformation when I open my Skids I'd like to draw that with a WWi Ironhide/Minicon Jolt style winshield head.
Oh, that, that was just to display Pinpointer's rear view, just to let people know that to keep the taxi sign on, i had to modify the root (robot) mode. LOL. But that would be cool if you could do that.
They are a nice start. I would re-do the kickback though. Make sure to get all of the back hatch. That square in blue while the rest is in white looks off.
Yeah, Kickback, I wasnt too proud of, seemed like too much of a let down (skid's undercover). I need to learn how to do head swap, if I ever stop using Skids and Ricochet styles, and then be able to paint heads. Thats why Kickback isnt transformed into his root mode. Still has his autobot symbol. If I ever get him painted and possibly change heads with Rollbar, paint it black and attach 2 antennae. Then I would like to do a comic strip with Skyfire and Sideswipe. My next Wrap-bash is my character... Takedown (Rollbar) Function: Statistics Input Specialist & Public Safety. "Let me take down your report". Just as soon as I get out of this snow/ice storm. BTW, reminds me is Skid's and Hound's head interchangable, has anyone tried??
All you need for most head swaps is a small phillips screwdriver. There are smalls screws on the back of the heads (sometimes multiple screws so watch out for that!) and many of the neck pegs are roughly the same size. There have been a couple pegs that I had to sand down the ball w/ my dremel and one that I had to glue the head in place because the socket was so much bigger than the ball but most work pretty well with just a straight swap. As far as your question goes, I'm not really sure. From the looks of it, Hound's head may be a little too big to fit in the Scion alt mode. That is one thing that you really have to watch for - fitting in alt mode. Older Alts seemed to have slightly bigger noggins. Oh, and I know your ice issue, I am just outside of KC on the other side. Being so close, I could show you what I am talking about on all counts but I had to sell all of my customs, sadly. All I have left are pics.
Thanks to Infosaur, I came up with a HUD mode for Pinpointer (reminiscent of Ironhide and Ratchet's toy form) with a new pic of Overcharge #72 Decepticon Battle Taxi Drone.... Tonite more pics of Overcharge ... in his own thread.
I found an awesome head for Pinpointer, Energon Prowl's head. Even works with the engine, only problem is the ball is too big.
