I seem to recall hearing/reading that we're supposed to be able to combine weapons for awesome combinations, and I believe Peaugh mentions this in one of his reviews as well, stating he's yet to find a way to do so.

..so is there anyone that has?

I mean I know some weapons, like Shockwave's, have a port on them or some such, but is that really it for the gimmick?

It's just plugging smaller weapons in the bigger weapons (I believe voyagers and up have MechTech ports on their weapons). So, yes, MechTechInception is the combining gimmick. And It's pretty cool.

Yeah, Ironhide for example has a socket on the top of his gun to attach another gun to. At a UK meetup where we got a chance to look at a couple of Ironhides, plugging a half dozen of the guns into each other was kinda fun. Looks very silly, but it's a gimmick all the same.

    Also quite fun! :D
If you recall we also plugged a shitload of stuff into leader Bumblebee's weapons which has lots of ports on it...
There's no specific end result here, it's literally just plugging one thing into another because you can. All it makes is a comedy mess.

If you have the right Mechtech weapons, I guess the idea is to give "brute" modes to figures with otherwise clean alt modes through layering on as many weapons as possible.

Most of the Voyager's mech tech weapons have at least 2 pegs to plug in smaller ones. Combine a few voyager mech tech weapons and you'll have a lot of pegs to put in weapons.
