Where they're still the name brand Transformers except they're in cheap dollar store packaging and they remind you of those old cheapy knockoffs of Gobots or whatever?

Quality isn't so bad on the ones with thick plastic builds. It's the weapons for the KO Star Saber and Victor Leo that you gotta be careful with.

Uh no I'm not talking about the KO Robotmasters but they're close enough anyway.

I said these cheap Transformers I saw at the Family Dollar store they were still the brand name Transformers only that the plastic looked a bit cheap looking but at the same time you could still transform them into some vehicles like a jeep with a bar grille at the front. That's why I said these Transformers remind me of those smaller cheapy versions of Gobots back then

Transformers Universe is what I'm talking about mostly and these Transformers Universe figures are packaged in the typical cheap dollar store packaging and the plastic on these transformers are what you woudl expect for the really bad knock offs that try to copy from Gobots back in the day.

Those are the same exact figures you buy at Walmart or Kmart! Just old stock they put in new packaging and sell to dollar stores!

yeah well there's also another Transformers line at the Family Dollar Store where these are a little bigger than the Universe ones and look like those other robot transformers besides Gobots that you would have seen back then when you were a kid.

Yes even cheap knockoffs that copied Gobots.

Not necessarily old stock. Much of that, legends and minocon sizes, are still being made for lower tier stores like family dollar and dollar general. That's why so many different colored backstops.

The only "Dollar Store Transformers" I've ever purchased was a complete set of those CHUG minicons; Drivetrain, Pan-handler, Swashplate, and Brake-Neck.
Some of the other TFs I've seen at Dollar stores include Some Universe Scouts (Priced $10, no less), and some KO CyberJets that could pass as the real deal (No blatant Grammatical Errors on packaging blurbs like most knockoffs) Including three-packs of said jets.
If we're blanket-categorizing Big Lots into "Dollar Stores" I've seen Knockoffs of Some of the Beast wars and Beast Machines figures including a Green version of Transmetal-II Megatron.

You got a pic of those CHUGs? I think I know what they look like if they're the same ones you just mentioned.

One of them is like a green army jeep with the bar grille on the front and the other is an all red camper trailer

The ones in Universe packaging are official TF products.

I have noticed, however, that their quality is not quite as good as regular releases. I've gotten three Minicons in Universe packaging, all of them have paint errors that are hidden in packaging. Could easily be that I had bad luck, but it's a damn weird coincidence.

I remember a topic a while back where a guy flat-out refused to believe they were Transformers and thought that they were knock offs, even though he had seen them himself. It was hilarious.

EDIT: If you're bored, take a read through this topic. It is genuinely hilarious. http://www.tfw2005.com/boards/trans...help-me-identify-knock-off-optimus-prime.html

They are official Hasbro universe minicons. I refer to them as CHUG since "CHUG" refers to any toy of the Classics, Henkei, Universe, Generations designation.

Wonder if in 30 years there will be threads about those rare dollar store tfers that are worth $100,000 (adjusted for inflation)

FInally thanks for the link to the Brawn figure. That is the figure that I saw at the Famiy Dollar Store.

Those figure are like 3 bucks at the family dollar store. Brawn, the Drivetrain and some other one where he turns ito an all red traveling camper trailer vehicle.
