Good grief it seems she's gotten worse. I can count the times on 1 hand where she isn't nasty/snarky. And yesterday her snarkiness was at an all time high. I wish Prime would have given her that speech about endangering others all those times she ran after Arachnid.

Yes, Arcee sure endangered human life when she ran after Airachnid by herself.

Oh wait, she didn't, it was a completely different situation and her complaint was still completely valid over Smokescreen's dumbassery.

Yeah, I actually really liked Arcee in Legacy. After weeks of the writers ignoring her development last season, we finally see that yes, she is capable of being responsible. I quite enjoyed her chewing out of Smokescreen and Jack.

Hopefully we'll get a scene of her and Jack talking next Friday.

We probably will not, since it is not a flashback episode :)

What does her and Jack talking have to do with a flashback? It could be a scene at the beginning of the episode before all the action starts. No flashbacks required.

I was sarcastic on the fact that her and Miko talked after Miko and WJ went on revenge, through a flashback episode.

But her nastiness before that happened? Unacceptable.

She's just a mean person who's unenjoyable to watch and unrelatable to the audience. Every comment out of her is a snide remark or sarcastic attack. It's friggin' grating when she showed such promise early on of being a well-rounded character. The very few moments of her breaking this pattern are almost immediately swept away by more jerkitude.

    Well, I got it.

Yeah, I got the little reference, but I wasn't exactly sure what you were saying. No biggie, I get it now.

Nope. She's better than all other Arcees including G1 because she is not treated like a girly girl. She's tomboyish I guess and most tomboys tend to act like that.

Being a tomboy doesn't equal being rude. And just because Arcee isn't a girly-girl doesn't excuse any of her other nonsense, like her rudeness or her recklessness in going after Airachnid.

Besides, being a girly-girl isn't all that bad if it's treated as only one possible personality type and is contrasted with other personalities. It's sort of like how being a Strong WomanTM isn't automatically a virtue - both good and bad people are capable of strength, it's the moral fiber that counts.

Getting the punchline of a joke is being a badass?

And a'course, y'know, she could be neither. She could just be a regular person with a non gender-specific personality that's not some kind of statement on past female characters.

I've known Tom Boy type girls growing up and they don't act rude or nasty towards people like Arcee does. She doesn't have to be a girly girly but nor does she need to be so abrasive either. If Arcee was a male character I would feel the same way.

No, feeling the need to point it out in a snarky fashion is.

I actually agree with you here though; we shouldn't use a character's gender as a crutch to define them. That is bad writing.

Even less so with Transformers, since they don't have to be defined by human preconceptions.

I liked Arcee laying in to Smokecreen, even though he's the new bot, she cares for Jack's protection, she just did what she thought was necessarily .

To be honest in "Human Factor" Jack said "Human and bot partnerships work." and then Arcee said "Not all the time." which tells me that she may not want Jack as a partner now. And the way she lectured Smokescreen was uncalled for. Let the lectures go to Optimus the LEADER! Gosh I hope she gets some development this season.

They're just going through the various standard female character personality stereotypes. Currently they're on 'miserable bitch'.

I liked her at first until the writers decided to keep her like: GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR. All. The. Time. It seems that is all she does now.

It's not Arcee's fault, but the writers.

Also, it is the fact that no one ever puts her in her place when she does things that endangered the team. Optimus basically coddles her when he should have put his feet down and disciplined her for those moments when she went after Airachnid. I understand that she lost two partners, but she is being selfish as many of the people around her have been fighting the same war, losing people around them as well. I'm not trying to be harsh but what gives her special treatment?

    Totally agree. :thumb
