Anyone else think Animated Rodimus beats the pants off Classics/Henkei Rodimus?

With all this buzz about Henkei Rodimus getting a reissue, I can't help but turn to my Animated Rodimus Minor in the meantime. I just think he's a much better toy than the short and blocky Classics version. His transformation is more involved, he sports less backpack kibble due to the slimmer windshield, and his engine block flips around to reveal the Autobot sigil - something I felt Classics Rodimus was lacking. Anyone else think Ani. Rodi comes up tops?

Yes I do but I have to factor in that the toy mold was released 4 prior to the Animated version.

Every time I see Animated Rodimus I feel that. The problem is that I dislike the Animated head. If the head were replaced with a more Classics style head I would be on that like a fat man on a pizza (which I was earlier).

He's a great toy as it is, so he could be the definitive Rodimus toy for good, unless something even more kickass comes along.

Bot-mode beats the pants off of the Classics mold but, vehicle mode is kinda...well, meh to me. It's super cool, just not, 'awesome'. The Classics vehicle mode will always beat it out because of the awesomeness but, also because it's based of of the Dome proto.

Almost anyone can agree that the Animated Rodimus is overall better as an individual mold compared to classics. But the classics one is still good for being more "G1ish" and it works for the Fansproject armor in case you don't have a classics Rodimus at all or the one you have doesn't match that good with the armor.

Of course it does. The Classics Rodimus mold came out in 2006! The difference is going to be noticable.

It's ridiculous how much engineering for TFs has progressed in such a short time. They really need to re-up all of the proper Classics molds to today's standards.

I love the Animated version (one of my favorites of the entire line) but still think the Classics version is perfect for its series. One of my all time favorite molds of the entire Classics-verse series in fact.

I suppose Animated Rodimus wins based on articulation, but for me the Classics mold wins out. Classics go well with just about all Transformers in terms of aesthetic, whereas the Animated stuff just goes with...well, Animated. And that's a mighty small universe, indeed.

Agreed, it really amazes me how different the two are, Animated seems to really mass shift going from smaller car to much larger robot. He's got great articulation, design, and he's a lot more fun.
