When I get my transformers, much of the fun (for me) is learning how to transform it, I bring it up cause I just read a thread about someones jetfire not having instructions, Does it really bother you guys that much?

Transforming them for the first time without knowing how they do it is the fun man! if you guys do read instructions than try it without next time!

I open the package, and then put the instructions in my instruction collection, then proceed to figure it out myself.

I usually don't need the instructions, but that's because of two things:

    1. I can usually figure out how the peices re-arrange themselves after handling the figure for a while

    and

    2. The instructions are usually useless (I hear the discription for Mixmaster's cannon mode is totally wrong, and most instructions usually leave something out)

depends. Most everyone I can figure out myself. If it overly complex like an alternator I haven't done in a long while or ROTF Leader Prime, then I'll use them. Otherwise I can do it all by myself...

Like the uber-nerd I am, I try not to use them. Unless I come across one like ROTF Leader Prime. Even with the instructions that sumbitch had me scratching my head for a good 20 minutes after getting him out of the box.

when I get a new figure and if it's a mold I don't already have I'll use the instructions once. I don't want to risk breaking something like when I try to twist out a panel when I should have pulled it or something

very rarely do I use instructions I did have to use them to figure out the first 2 steps of Mudflap but that was only cause I didnt want to break him 10 seconds out of the package.

but usually I can look at a picture and get it from there

It does when you force some part, unbeknownst to you, the wrong way and the damn thing breaks in your hands.:banghead:  cry

So yeah--I use the instructions. I try to keep adventure away from the moderately priced to the expensive toy robots.

I like using the instructions because I fear breaking them (ex: mp-megatron)

99% of the time, I won't touch them. The picture on the box is enough. HOWEVER, movie Skids and Mudflap had me frustrated as hell, and I looked at the instructions. Those two have stupid complicated transformations.

Sometimes it's a good idea to use them just in case that odd panel that needed to be flipped/folded/rotated/sauteed/oiled/caressed had to be done before you transformed a section. And by not doing so might cause breakage or unsightly stress marks.

However.....whoever the wise guy is who does Hasbro's instructions sheets needs to have his ass kicked.

Most of the time, I use the instructions to go one way, then transform them back without instructions. However, with the last few TFs I've bought, I've been transforming them without instructions with great success. I'll probably still use them for the more complex/fragile ones though.

Yeah, the technical drawings leave A LOT to be desired. Even G1 instructions were generally better and at least had the benefit of simpler conversions to back them up. Now--the damn things better be good.

I use the instructions when I get stuck; which doesn't happen a lot, but does happen every few figures. I don't think the fun is only 'transforming the first time, not knowing how' because if that were true, I'd buy a figure, transform it once and return it because, apparently, the fun's all gone.
