it looks closer to G1
Nah, I think it's cool. The Gray parts I can now put on bruticus.
So buy the new one and sell off your grey one.
Edit - dp
its a limited edition all while ROTF/Energon Superion appendage kit the limit is 500 sets
have FP promised a one-off production of the original kit? if not, they have every right to issue the kit again.
have FP promised a one-off production of the origianl kit? If so, they are going to re-issue th kit anyway because their promises are s**t. Oh, the new one has different color scheme so it is a brand new product in their mind.
I don't think it looks all that great.
Not to me, as I didn't get it yet, was going to ask for it for Christmas, so, this was actually nice option for those who don't have it yet.
But, I do see how you would feel that way.
Just like the improved City Commander set, I got the first one, then they update it. Not sweating it, though, everything gets repainted/redone these days.
I got the TFCon Powered Commander, people freaked about that exclusive, they then added chrome, and slightly changed the hue of the colors.
and on and on
I was beting on the fact they would do that.
There's no reason to get upset; it's a straight-up repaint of a non-exclusive product that isn't considerably more expensive or less available than the original at the moment. If you have a strong distaste for repaints, you're in the wrong hobby.
not really, the white is ok though, it's the extras that i'm wondering about
It's not like they aren't doing something Hasbro or Takara haven't done themselves. The business model's working if redecos are continually being released.
I didn't hear they say the Superion Add-on Kit is a one shot deal.
I think it looks awesome and I will have a set.
no problems here.
These independent third-party companies make and profit from unlicensed, unofficial derivative products based on someone else's intellectual property. Is anyone really expecting them to abide by some kind of code of honor when it comes to re-releasing stuff you already bought from them?
Not to mention they're soliciting these products to FANS, the group most likely to buy expensive stuff AND buy it two or three times. Sure, those fans will gripe and complain, but they'll still open their wallets, so who cares?
People want products Hasbro won't or can't make, but expect these companies to conform to Hasbro-style policies pertaining to "protecting" exclusives (like Botcon). I don't see it happening.
But I do remember them saying they're not in it for the money trying to turn a profit, but rather they were just fans and wanted to make cool stuff. And that any money made would go straight back into making other cool stuff. Kinda seems as though something has changed along the way...
It's not really any more expensive is it? If it's still the $50 price tag, then going by their word, they're still not making anything more than a token profit off of it.
Manufacturing and distribution didn't magically get cheaper simply because they're using a different colour of plastic.
