Joopsta I feel exactly the same way. Now through this 4 month period those pictures will be saved to my hardrive. I have a feeling anyone seen so far in episodes 1-13 will be Wave 1. Still wondering where swoop and Grimlock official pictures are?

 

Considering I drive a Scion XB (his alt mode) I'm stoked to see my fav Decepticon tape player

 

I'm buying Animated Soundwave for my casual fan mate as a Birthday present (hopefully), he'll go nuts for it and it's shear rockingness.

 

I'm extremely excited for every toy in this line, especially SW though. Really inventive concept in my opinion. Really deviated from conventional thinking with the LB Guitar.

 

Speaking of Lazerbeak, anyone else wondering what those massive pegs on his wings are for?
They're not for fixing him to soundwave's roof and they don't seem to serve any purpose in bot mode either.

 

It's not just the fact that they gave him an extremely nostalgic paint scheme, it's that they gave him a blocky alt mode that allows him to turn into a blocky, yet also streamline robot.

 

I cant wait to get that toy. He looks great and pays a nice homage to the original.

 

Yes...Soundwave has been added to the must have list of Animated figures....

....according to my want list....that makes all of them so far!!...

Scratch that. Make it a two pack Ravage a guitar amp, frenzy and rumble combine in altmode to make a drum set. Im geting sick of ravage not being with soundwave ITS ALWAYS LASERBEAK!

I'm taking a wait and see approach. I do NOT like his design at all (whoever thought that a monkey body and mosquito head are good for Soundwave needs to be slapped), and his origin sounds iffy. And while I like the campiness off the Lazerbeak guitar, I have to say that it just doesn't fit with Soundwave. Any other character I would have loved it with, but Soundwave is just to iconic for all those weird changes, IMO. But who knows, it might work, so I'm giving it a chance.

 

I believe they serve multiple purposes. There are shots of Laserbeak in axe and bot mode pegged to SW's car roof. But I think they also serve as anchor points for posing SW rocking out with Laserbeak in axe mode. Or with Laserbeak in SW's arm.

Now when I saw the prototype oic from botcon my immediate thoughs for the rest of Soundwaves lil'buddies were.
-Buzzsaw=bass
-Ravage=amp
-Rumble and Frenzy=drum kit
-Ratbat=keytar

And I stand by them!

 

Now that I think about it, having Ravage as an amp and Rumble and Frenzy as a drum kit sounds pretty wicked.

 

The Ravage=Amp, Rumble-Frenzy Drum Kit idea is incredible. It's so good I'll almost be disappointed if it doesn't happen.

Am I the only one that gets an Energon Ironhide vibe from this Soundwave figure? Just in terms of structure.
