What makes you think it's going to suck?

I don't know how much of it I'm going to buy. I'm trying to be a little bit more careful with money, and to be honest I don't really have room for new stuff anyway, and I don't really think the toys based on the live-action movies are that good anyway. So I don't think it'll suck, but I'm probably not going to buy a lot from it.

i think megatron will make an excellent stand in for Motormaster....i think the alt mode should look mighty fine next to Breakdown and Dead End (scouts).

i hope for even more movie styled scouts with zero screen time...

i actually have high hopes for the line considering i'm not looking at it as "DOTM TOYS" or anything....i've skipped the first two movies and i'll skip this one too.

I don't think it'll suck, but it does look like it will be a step down in quality from HftD/RtS and Generations. So much of what we've seen so far (granted, very little) is gimmick-oriented - those plugs all over several figures have me worried. But I'm sure I'll still have fun with the line.

    Based on what exactly?

Personally, I just buy onscreen characters. So, if anything it'll save me money. Although, if hftd/rts is any indication this lines toy only characters could be full of classics type figures and homages.

I generally don't buy movie toys, but when I see a good deal or see good reviews, I'll buy 'em. That said, I'm definitely planning on getting Megatron. Nothing else I've seen so far though.

Megatron and Ironhide look excellent, most everything else is lackluster.

I'd have to see the movie first. Then see toy reviews.

I'm looking forward to Megs, but that is about it for now. I also hope that the line isn't plagued with gimmicks (but the pegs have me worried). Unless there are some mind blowing figures, I don't see me buying 90% of the movie figures. I will use my saved money on G1 figures and 3rd party figures (I'm looking at you TFClub Devy ;)  )

If RotF is any indicator, I think we're in for a lot of really cool toys.

I wouldn't judge the entire line by just a few toys... The new Megatron looks great and I really like the basic class Human Alliance figure (I'm hoping there will be a lot more.)

Agreed. It'll most likey have many promotion gimmicks. The Mech Tech is probably gonna end up like like Mech Alive, which is barely around anymore.

    My thoughts so far:

Megatron looks really good. Can't wait to see how the leader turns out.
Ironhide looks pretty good except for the giant pegs on his doors.
Prime...I am at a loss for words for that one. Best I can say is that ROTF & HFTD's versions were two steps forward, but this one is like twelve giant leaps backward.

Can't comment on the others we've seen, as they were too small and grainy. Though the fact that HA is returning brings only good feelings.

so far, the ha's and legend bases are interesting...but i see what you're saying, the mechtech stuff looks bad, the ports for them are huge and the weapons oversized. even though i don't like the movie line looks, i think that looks too kiddy for the line mechalive was a better gimmick by far
