I played a good 30 minutes of the first chapter, does anyone else find the controls a little bit odd?

 

You should probably specify which system you're using.

 

PS3.

 

When I first played the demo on 360 I found them a bit difficult, but I got them down and now they seem pretty effective.

Then I picked up my preorder which was for ps3. The slight changes in controls took more getting used to but now ps3 is fine too.

Youll get used to them!

 

Initially I was very frustrated with the controls - I spent my first 10 or so multiplayer games just randomly transforming because I kept accidentally clicking the sticks in.

Going through the campaign has helped a lot though. It rarely happens to me now.

 

I was a little thrown off at first by having to press down on the left control stick to transform (360 version), but every thing else was perfectly fine. No problems now that I've gotten the hang of it.

 

I frequently had problems accidentally transforming by pressing in the stick by accident. Switched to the second control scheme and everything was smooth sailing.

 

Give em time. You'll get used to them and they'll be very fluid.

 

I find it weird only for the jets. I wish it would operate the hover mode like the vehicle, and allow a separate control set for the flight mode. I can't wrap my head around not using it inverted in flight.

 

Feels fine on the 360

 

It takes some getting used to. The biggest problem I tend to have is that I sometimes have a hard time controlling the camera and I sometimes randomly transform when I'm trying to melee.

 

I'm on PC and I find the controls very awkward. I don't use WASD for movement and the game really wants me to. It sucks that I can't change the key mappings.

 

I have trouble here too- the lack of inversion is the first part, but more so that the dive/rise command for jets is on the right stick!

 

I am having trouble adjusting to pressing the sticks for transforming and melee on PS3. For some reason I keep wanting to hit triangle to transform and that has made for plenty of screwups.

 

Oh god, me too. I thought I was doing it, but if I'm not alone than maybe not.

I don't know what system your using, but ascend/descend in flight mode is the A and B buttons on the 360 so I'd assume that it's the relative buttons on the PS3 (X and Circle).

 

You know you can invert the jet controls (separately from the other controls) in the options, right?

 

Give or take a few careless clicks that made me transform inadvertently, I'm not having any trouble with the controls.

In fact, I usually suck at flying/piloting games (which is why I stay away from them), yet, so far, flying as Starscream in the Decepticon campaign has been very simple to me.

 

i also have some issues flying, but found the inverted controls to be even harder

 

I've seen my biggest problem mentioned here... I get someone lined up for a perfect melee shot, and suddenly I'm zooming across the map in vehicle mode.

Otherwise, I'm liking the controls. The alt mode works nice for the limited amount you use it(though I've yet to play extensive time as a flier).

 

They were really hard at first, but it's like anything else, I started to get used to them after a while. It's no worse than a Metal Gear or Resident Evil control scheme
