Anyone else ever feel they should leave them grey?

    I'm pretty sure that's how the grey prototypes are made. They actually look like a Hodge podge of plastic colors and materials and they spray it grey for consistency and to bring out the mold detail. I've seen some prototypes where they " missed a spot" or it was faint and you could see plastic color through.

    So OP did you want molded grey plastic? You can just spray with plastic paint.

    I remember MMC did a few. A gray version of Sixshot, I think called Nova something and the "Awakening" version of the HOS Seekers mold.

    maybe this is the next deco trend? Nemesis, SG, Diaclone, now gray "dead" versions of every toy.

    I enjoy all types of prototypes, but I'm a sucker for black prototype shots.

    I'm kind of surprised, and disappointed, that there are no all-red variants of some of these figures. At least none that I know of. This of course would be a reference to the hate plague that was featured in the cartoon.

    It could also be viewed as a throwback to those old decoy figures.
