I know its been talked about alot, but has anyone actually done one? I havn't seen any as yet.
I have a version in mind & was hoping to compare it to others to see if im game to try pull it off - I don't trust my ability with a spraycan or to find the perfect colour - a pale gold in my opinion. Some recoloured Divebomb reprolabels & a slight neck mod that i found the other day that will help a mane look might do the trick I think but whether I can do it is different

    So... anyone done one yet???

    Regards

    JL

I wouldn't listen to Megacron. He claims his camera's "in the shop" everytime he has something good.

    But just IMO.

JL, if you're refering to my work and my previous post, I was saying that he's on my "to-do list" but not that I've actually started any work on it.

My "to-do" list consists of each of the molds and my plans for each of them. This way, when I set forth to do a custom, I already have a running plan in place. It's also a way for me to keep doing customs work while not being able to actually sit down at my work table to work with the 3-D aspect of it.

It also serves as a motivating factor as well. For instance, I had made my plans to make my Alternators Seekers, each time I completed one, I got the satisfaction of marking each one off of my list. It's also neat to see that I made plans to do something and saw it through to it's completion. :)

This "list" is actually only part of a larger component as well: a sketchbook. I do more with Alts/BTs than just customs and lists are only a part of a larger whole. My actual label designs for the seekers are a part of the sketchbook as well as different designs for other customs. Also, I keep my research material in one place as well. I am currently up to date with the Civic and the Jag with all of the manufacture brochures; they are also a part of this resource.

It's essentially my designer's kitchen sink. :)  I have also made updates of this whole sketchbook. Currently it's in it's 5th version. I do this to to mainly houseclean. A sketchbook can become very cluttered and disorganized after some time. I recently bought a new sketchbook that is of a really nice quality, and I'm excited about making the 6th version here shortly :)

Actually I was referring to the other guy.

anyway, here is how i think with minimal mods ravage can become steeljaw - imagine pale gold & some silver deco's down the doors

I think it makes a good mane

    any opinions?

Oh well, I enjoyed hearing myself talk anyways :lol  (not really)

Well, it gives me a bit of inspiration anyways :)  I'm sure by the time I actually get to it, we'll all have worked through a few ideas! It seems as if you're on the right track anyways :thumb

Nice work! Im eager to see more pics. Ive always liked the idea of kitbashing. Right now im trying to concentrate on creating a good Bludgeon Fig. I hope steeljaw turns out good as a whole.

I plan on making one too. I'm going to position the doors as you have them, just more so on an upward angle to give the simulation of "wings" and I'm going to change the head and do my best to add a mane.

Anyone going thru with theirs? I'm planning to get him commissioned by our very own SamiWCP or someone else if she ends up being busy next month.

I'm not sure what to add to for his blasters. For the ears, just cut and reposition them. I'm going to mod the legs so they bend backwards alittle. And get the doors into more wing positions if possible.

Haven't done real mods since the 90's, so let's see how this ends up.

I'm doing a repaint of Ravage into Steeljaw. Probably won't do any modifications.

And yes, the paint for the car is a pain. I was going with yellow but as someone pointed out, it's not factory. Also I'm using yellow for another project. But I'm going to get some kitbash supplies tomorrow so we shall see what turns up

Megacron, post pics...or never say "I did it.", again. There was a post on Alt Steeljaw a few months ago and you had the same response.

Will the yellow work over the black?

besides, if you're worried about it, just apply some primer first.

Does Krylon work with primer ? I've always assumed it wouldn't cause it "bonds" to plastic, thought it might eat through the primer or have adverse affects.
