Not yet Had to stock the movie (got dibs on some of the shipper pieces ) and I get paid tomarrow night.
Lend it from a friend, and damn, that's one way to change things. Wasn't the Hulk stopped by strapping him to a nuclear warhead or something like that? Do like how they resolved him in this story, though. Oh, and it made Captain America a believable character, impressive. To bad Pym isn't a wifebeater anymore, but the substitute was very nice (he definately has the biggest ego I've ever seen in an animated feature). But overall, it felt like Ultimates Lite: impressive, but not as awesome as the source material. Speaking of which, I'm going to buy the comics now. Oh yeah, one other thing: Where the hell was Hawkeye!?
Remember, Marvel wanted the movie to appeal to a "wide" (read kiddies) audience. Hence Giant Man is an egotistical prick and not a wife beater. Or why Banner injects himself to "cure" the Hulk and doesnt go nuts because Betty's on a date. Plus....he doesnt eat people.
definately not as good as the comics. Nor is it even as good as JLU. But it's a monumental step up from the old Fox Avengers cartoon. And I mean Galactus level step up.
Agreed, although I would love Tigra to be in the sequel. Always wondered what an U-Tigra would be like, considering the 616 version is a rather weak character.
i keep thinking about it, but havent read the books, but im glad marvel is doing animated movies now, they can do so much in an animated movie and hit some of the smaller characters, they should make daredevil 2 into an animated feature, but use the original voices
I baught it at target and really enjoyed the movie. I cant wait for the sequal and will also get the other movies advertised on the insert!
I went out to a Target and Circuit City yesterday and a Best Buy today on my way home from work and all three stores were sold out. Argh!
First: This thread is really unecessary and should be merged into the other. Second: If you guys liked this then go out right now to your local comic shop and buy the TPBs of the first two volumes, or else the hardcover of the entire 13 issue run. It is millions of times superior to the adaptation.
I would never call "The Ultimates" good. Just a lot of flash and no substance, and reimaginings of characters to the point they're offensive.
