I think he just screwed it all up I could care less aboutt the new movies
Overall I liked the movies. They could have used more transformer -blam- kicking action, but not much can be done now.
Oh, sure, THIS is worth discussing AGAIN. Can we please keep these in the Movie forum if we have to keep having them at all?
EDIT: Thanks, mods!
TRUKK NOT MUNKY!!!
No because the first movie brought me back to Transformers after the Unicron trilogy ended but thanks to the movies I'm still a fan plus it brought back Peter Cullen . Also the movies themselves are great.
So the movies only made Transformers Better
If you don't care about the movies, what does it matter what he did?
Granted, the movies have had significant impact on the shows, games and comics that have followed them, but shit, they've also brought tens of thousands thousands of people (if not millions) back to the brand, and to the brand for the first time. Especially kids, who are not only the largest consumer of TF products, but who will form the future of the fandom. He also spearheaded a series of projects that have directly led to the transformers brand making literally tens of billions of dollars, if not more.
You can take issue with what Bay did in terms of his direction, but Transformers are far from screwed up.
Absolutely not. Not only did he stay VERY true to the source material (mostly G1 of course xD) but he made a LOT of money for the franchise!
You could care less?
So you must care a fair bit, then.
The only part I dont care about is the romance give me some damn voilence with no romance
I fucking hate this phrase so much. Why not just say "I couldn't care less" and eliminate any confusion? It's like everyone adopting "normalcy" when the correct term is "normality" just because a President said it.
one of these again? I know I haven't been on the thread very long but seriouslly. Who cares if bay screwed the movies up. We can't do anything. The only thing we could probablly do is send him mail on how the fourth movie should be.
If the only part you don't care for is the sam/mikela/carly dynamic, then why do you think having a romantic subplot screwed up Transformers, out of curiosity?
It's not like there haven't been romances before in some of the greatest incarnations of the brand. Optimus Prime and Elita-1, Silverbolt and Blackarachnia, Sideburn and that Red Sports car...
Looking at your avatar, Nobleboivin. What is that creature?
On topic. I'm not a fan of certain aspects of the movies, especially the designs, but the first one was great and the third did make up for the second one's shortcomings. Only thing I really hated was Leo.
It's the nine-tails fox from Naruto
A little word of advice, threads like these get out of hand; very fast. I can respect that you don't like the movies. But these type of threads usually just lead to eventual locking.
No. Absolutely nobody on this site has ever expressed a negative opinion on Michael Bay or the films he directs.
The only thing I hate about them, is this is now how the mainstream perceives the franchise.
Low brow, frat humor, girls in bikinis, giant product placement (no not the toys), lowest common denominator, mindless money machine.
And Star Trek is starting to turn the same way.
It can't devalue things I already liked, and it doesn't affect how much I enjoy the Prime cartoon or the WFC video games. I'm just disappointed that most people will never know the franchise beyond those movies.
I'm of two minds if that is better or worse than them never knowing the franchise at all.
is awesome, he saved Transformers, they were dying. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't even know what they were.
Thats what gets me mad is kids wont know where transformers beegan im a huge fan of g1 I goy into tfs when the armada line came out shortly after I saw the original movie thats the shit right there
