My buddy has this Monsters HD channel, and I was just thinking about how back in the good ole days, you had to wait around for Joe Bob Briggs to catch your B-movie/exploitation/horror fix. Or stare at Rhonda Shear's tig ole bitties.

I miss those shows. Back before the internet, when you stumbled upon movies the old fashioned way. Hearsay and blind luck.

I was just thinking about them because I'm pissed that they bury TCM Underground at 2 in the morning, instead of 10-11ish. But then again, Rob Zombie is no Joe Bob.

    Anybody else miss these shows?

Hells ya I remember that dude...and whats her name sometimes...elvira or something...she was hot in that getup. Tales from the crypt, The hitchiker or hitcher or something like that kinda shows. Those were excellent. All that nightmare on elm street stuff....friday the 13th OMG remeber that one with that old dude and that old ass mercedes benz, they had a couple few good ones to watch.....

You think Hollywood should do a new Jason or a Freddy slasher? I would totally watch it. But with Jason we really lost Camp Crystal Lake with all that "jason in space" crap and all that....

Up all Night with Gilbert Gottfried got me through many a sleepless night.

Speaking of which, saw Gilbert's comedy show live a few weeks back, he's one of the funniest comic's ever!

I really miss Joe Bob Briggs. . .for Monster Vision, but mostly for his God Stuff skits on some of the early Daily Show episodes (with that red-headed tool host). That stuff was beyond hilarious, though I don't think that I can talk about it beyond that on these boards. . .

lol, yea I remember those days. Past 11pm every other commercial in USA was a phone sex ad, they had that silk stockings show, up all night with rhonda, whole bunch of other total trash tv garbage. Then if you stayed up late enough, you'd see a phone sex ad, then 2 seconds later the cartoon express intro.

I remember back in the 90's, Channel 4 had something like that. About 1-2am-ish in the morning on certain days.
I still have Ghidrah-The three headed monster on video, complete with intro by the guys who did the mini-show.

I also have Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla (1974) from when they showed it in 1996. They had South Park night, a documentary on South Park, Terrence + Phillip then Godzilla.

That movie is freakin' awesome. I watched it last night.

Once it finished they showed the Magic Roundabout and the Pink Panther.

    Good times, good times....

Up all Night was definitely one of my all time favorites. It's really a shame all that goodness is all gone.

I love cheesy monster/horror films. I really miss those kinds of shows on late night TV. You can get a lot of those movies they played on DVD for $2, but it's just not the same.
