Remember Battle Beasts, better known as Beastformers in Japan? I've loved them since before I discovered the internet. By now I imagine most people have seen either the episode(s) of Headmasters they appeared in, so hopefully this scene means something to you :)

Cataclizm1- Thanks! I've been working on quite a few of these, hopefully they're close enough to Transformers to warrant an accepted place in a TF art forum :D

Josh- Thank you kindly :)  Beastformers were a race of animal warriors that lived on Planet Beast, first encountered by Fortress and the other Headmasters in the TF Headmasters series in Japan. There was really only one episode that featured them, but one or two popped up every now and then throughout the series, never in any significant role. Takara decided to create a toyline based on them though, originally calling them Beastformers and giving them elemental powers (Fire, Wood, Water, and the special Sunburst power that was all three combined) as well as dividing them into Cybertron and Destron allegiances. Hasbro ported them over and called them Battle Beasts, playing the Fire,Wood, Water game much like paper, rock, scissors.
Sadly, nowadays the toys go for a ridiculous amount of money ($7 for a 3" toy... erg...) but I've always loved the artwork for them.

    Rumble02-You mean this one?

    whats the back story?

my crit would be, a worms eye view from between the 2 subjects wouldve made it more dramatic. hope this helps for future works.

Lonewolf, Liokaiser, Brave Magnus, & atlianz,
Many thanks! Battle Beasts were one of the first toys I can remember actually saving money for to buy, and I've always loved the artwork for them.

    Ka-
Quickie question, did you get your name from the term used in Stephen King's Dark Tower series? If so, bravo :)
Thanks for the suggestion, I know what you mean about the worm's eye view giving it a more dramatic look. For this piece though, I wanted to kind of replicate the last scene of the Headmasters episode

    The backstory?
Lesse, originally Planet Beast was a place of peace and love, etc., until the Destrons showed up and a war broke out. Galvatron joined forces with Alligatron and the Destron Beasts wound up gained the upper hand, enslaving other beasts and making them perform slave labor in their factories. The Cybertron Beasts managed to contact Fortress Maximus and the rest of the Headmasters. With their help, as well as the help of Rodimus and the Monsterbots, they manage to run the Destrons off the planet.

I had no clue that was the battle beasts' origin...holy cow. I never had any of them but I'd always play with my friends' they were pretty cool.
