Like the title states, does anyone on the forum play guitar as I do? What are your favorite brand of guitar when playing?

I have over 14 at the moment but looking to thin the herd soon, so if anyone is interested in a guitar, pm me.....but the point of this thread is to see whether other TF collectors play guitar/collect guitars?

    Banjo and Guitar.

The Guitar is a Yamaha acoustic, basically just a starter I picked up to learn on. The Banjo is a tenor from the 1890s that belonged to my great great grandfather

Pretty cool! I just picked up my great granfathers mandolin he bought from a pawn shop in NYC while on lunch break in the 1920's and an old hohner accordion.

I play the guitar an (Ibanez RG Series) and the bass (a Fender Jazz Bass)
That would be cool to collect more. I'd be interested :)

That is freaking sweet! Mandolins do not get enough play, though accordions seem to be making a comback.

Hahah yea sadly I can't play it but my great grandfather played with 2 fingers(broke a few fingers at some point in his life) so he taught himself to play through his injury. He played guitar, accordion, and keyboard as well as sing in his native sicilian dialect.

    Do I play?: Yes.
    Am I any good?: No

While I enjoy playing my guitar, it's not something that comes naturally to me. I really have to work to be any good which takes some of the fun out of it.

I too have an Ibanez RG. Nothing fancy but it does everything I want it to.

Always have, but just for fun. Been in a few bands but the ego trips got annoying and silly after awhile.

I am looking to start soon, matter of fact. I'm waiting for the end of the month to pick up my first acoustic guitar. I hope to be pretty good at it so I can move up to the electric guitar.

I'm pretty goddamn terrible at guitar, but I've been playing for about a year now.
I just play on whatever leftovers father has. A Gretsch electric of sorts and a Yamaha electric acoustic of sorts. I dunno if these are any good, but they get the job done.

I'm much more of a bass player. Got me a Epiphone Embassy Special IV. It's amazingly basic, but does what it needs to. Would love to get a Musicman Bongo 5. Or a Rickenbacker 4001.

I attempt to play Bass. Have myself a Fender American deluxe ash jazz bass. For "noiseless" colbalt pickups they sure do humm quite a bit more than my Fender Mexican deluxe JBass, I don't think they were grounded properly from the factory.

I play guitar and bass. My favorite guitar is my black Gibson S.G. Its so awesome, the best guitar i've ever held and played. The quality of it just feels so good to me. My bass is a pretty standard 5 string Ibanez Soundgear with active pick-ups. Its perfect for recording, and sounds great live. I guess im ok at both. i just recorded a song where I play everything... its just a few threads over... :)  :rock

I have a guitar, but can't play it.

    It's missing three strings, anyway.
