I am thinking about getting one but wanted to see if anybody already has one and if they think it is worth the $150. It looks pretty cool to be sure, opinions?
Yep, and no regrets at all. Fits right in with the MP's pics http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v148/loebig/Voltron/ and it's a thick set too
I've been on the fence about this guy since the 1st run. Still on the fence. I have two old school's. It looks better, but not $150 better. There are other transformers I could blow $150 on lol.
Well according to some people on WEP's Voltron forums, the paint easily rubs off the Voltron is you drop him, or accidently slide him along something very lightly. Plus one of the legs does not lock in properly, and there was something else wrong with it. If I can find the post, I'll link it here.
I used to have a GoLion when I was a kid. That Masterpiece seems like that there is only a marginal improvement in articulation. The GoLion lions even look better than what I see here. Not worth $150 when you have GoLion or the Matchbox Voltron.
I bought him based on a few reviews/posts from people who were just raving about him - and I was disappointed enough to sell mine (something I VERY rarely do). In my opinion, he's just not significantly different enough from the original to warrant a purchase if you have the vintage one. If you're hoping for an engineering advancement comparable to the jump from G1 Prime -> Masterpiece Prime, you will be quite disappointed.
I agree with you, ams. While some of the additional articulation and the overall leaner and more agile look is cool on the MP Voltron, I dig the original just as much. *see sig*
I preordered it and was happy that I did. I have the reissue 90s voltron and The MP voltron and like them both. Its a great display figure.
God I am like almost old enough to be your father at 29.... But on the positive side I went ahead and picked a masterpiece up on ebay for $130 shipped! Thanks for all the feedback guys!
hey that doesnt mean you guys can boss me around!man now I feel like wheelie in fortress maximus!every one of you are bigger than me!
For those who have issues with the leg not fitting correctly, I found a very easy fix online. The Blue Lion leg is the problem one and will not lock into place unless you apply a little extra pressure putting him in. You don't have to jam it in, but you do have to be rather firm in getting the tab to lock in. It should be fine after you hear the "snap" sound that the Yellow Lion leg makes without the same amount of pressure. I went through BBTS sending a replacement leg before finding that fix.
Not meaning to bring back a dead thread but with the DVD coming soon its bring my interest in voltron back. I was wondering if anyone has or can point me towards some pictures/galleries/reviews of this. Voltron was my favorite toy/series when I was a kid and Target.com carries the Mp Voltron and I can get 10% off with my Xbox Live Diamond account (and I can put it on my Target card) so i'm really on the fence if I want to get it or not.
