So with all of the news of the new alternator listings and then the link to the tfmasters site I got overly excited about custom Alternators. Especially after seeing Lobo's F150 bash from a Swindle body.

Now what I want to know is if there are any good kitbashers out there that would make me custom Alternator for a price.

Post up or shoot me a PM.

You might be better asking this in the kitbash forum. Thus away it goes.

Man...I wish I could jump in on this and help, but I'm midway through the spring semester. I just simply wouldn't have time. :(

Keep your eyes open for Lobo or tfmaster's posts around here. OR make an account at TFmaster.com and inquire there. Either way, I'm sure you'll find the masters - and the other local kitbashing adepts - ready to help you.

I'm looking for a complete re-shell. For example, I really liked that F150 reshell of the Swindle/Hound body. I don't have any specific reshells in mind, although the F150 does look pretty damn cool.

good luck. When I inquired about having a meister reshelled with a new GTO body for my REDLINE character, I only got a single response!

If you are looking for a re-shell, be prepared to spend a pretty penny, in fact several of them.

I've not done any reshells as of yet. I am looking at doing my first some time fairly soon though.

I've started on my first reshell, and let me tell you.. It is not easy. If you do find someone willing to do it, expect to pay out the wazoo.. It's alot of work.

Reshelling is not easy at all. So I agree that you will need to fork out quite a bit for a reshell job. Probably around $300-400 (that's how much I've seen some re-shell customs go for on ebay). Lobo seems to be the re-shelling master so you may want to ask him if he's willing.

You know what? I have to agree with Lobo being the first and best one brought to mind in this situation.

And it's the same kinda responce here, if you are looking for it to be done then you will need to exspect not only to spend a good amount on it but also have to wait a decent amount of time too. Most TF kitbashers won't even consider it without the cash up front to be able to pony up for supplies just so they con take you seriouse.

In the end it's ganna cost you and take time so make sure you handle the situation well and fully know what you are getting into and don't pester the artisit as well. (But also don't be afraid to ask for updates. Some people can be too pushy and will turn the artist off from wanting to do this for you or anyone else in the future.

Just me beaten dead horse... :horse:

well, what if you buy nearly all the supplies yourself? *L* I've got the GTO model for mine, and am in the process of getting the meister and also a junker hotrod.

The price being quoted is largely for hours of labor and intensity of work. You can provide the model kit and the resources, but it's not going to drop the price of a complete reshell to like $100.

At least, personally, I'd still charge a lot for the labor. A complete re-shell is f***ing hard.

Or try it yourself. I'm in very beginning of the process to try to re-shell an Alt. Skids into my own personal truck. It probably wont turn out nearly as nice as some of the ones done by kitbashers noted in this thread but because I will have done it myself, I'll be more proud of the final product even if it isnt perfect.

I don't expect it to drop down to a single hundred, but I figured I could get it for somethin' like $200 to $250...

$400? If I thought I could get that much for them I'd quit my day job and do this for a living.

Personally, I would never charge someone that much for a custom. I don't think I'd be able to sleep well at night if I did.

But when it comes down to it, there's just not enough time. Between work, my own projects, and that damn Xbox I have very little of it. In fact, I still have 1 commsion (my only one) that I still haven't finished yet after 6 months. doh!

I would say that if you really want a reshelled Alt, try making one yourself. It is hard but it's really rewarding when it's done. And if you have any problems, there's lot's of kitbashers out there who are more than willing to help you out.

    Lobo

BTW, Thanks for the kudos everyone!

I tell you what, I'm gonna try doing that ssr reshell of swindle, like on that Ironhide custom, except I want to make him turquiose into kup. if I can get it to work, I'll do it for free, minus parts, which it sounds like you'd supply. that goes for you too, redline

You guys who do this shit are awesome and talented at it. Im always amazed when I see those customs. Especially the heads that are unique, that always blows me away.

I cant see myself spending over $100 on a model though (its not a toy cause I dont play with em!) but buying a unique head for a body thats overused (Ricochet) I can do :D
