Hey y'all. Since many of the new deluxes have been molded with a new head ready-made for repaints (e.g., WFC BB/Cliffjumper, Darkmount/Skullgrin), I was wondering if there had been any rumors of a repaint or remold for WFC Soundwave. My apologies if this has already been asked and answered.

    Thanks, MyClone

Nope, and I can't imagine who he could be repainted as besides Soundblaster.

    They already did it once.

Ironhide maybe? The window chest design of Soundwave would fit Ironhide's window chest thing. Tough chunky vehicle mode too.

Soundwave cannot be ironhide. The alt mode might looks nice, but Soundwave in bot form is very lean. Ironhide is a muscle guy.

I doubt Hasbro would care much about that. Generations Blurr is pretty chunky for a character most people consider should be lean.
But I suppose it'll be Soundwave into Blaster anyway. It's the no-brainer, easiest, laziest choice.

He's too spiky and evil for Blaster.

I've said it once and I'll say it again: Mainframe. He'll need a new head, but more Action Master love is welcome!

According to Hasbro's last Q&A, the only WFC repaint's going to be Bumblebee.

I think he would be decent as Perceptor. With that shoulder cannon and the "tray" it kind of can work for a microscope-esque character.

Oh and I am now totally tempted to see if I can mod Soundwave into a passable Ironhide/Ratchet since that is a character I want very much from the WFC game.

Botcon may repaint the mold in 2012 (2011 is too soon to use Generations) but there are better Generations molds to use.

Not to be arguementative but I've never regarded any version of Soundwave to be lean. His original toy hulked over the G1 Seekers and still hulks over the Classics Seekers today. I like the silent bulky bodyguard/advisor to Megatron.

A retool into WFC Ironhide would definitely please me.

Given the latest Q&A, I have a feeling that we won't be seeing any of these guys again, save for perhaps an Optimus as Nemesis Prime at SDCC.

I'd kind of like to see him in some of the random color palettes from multiplayer. I saw a sharp dark green and gray combo during one of the X exp weekends. A lot of the Decepticon skins were really nice looking. Dark and evil.

I'd be happy just to find the 1st version.
