I don't think you see Masterpiece figures of any of those characters. Definitely not something like Punch & Counter Punch.

We are getting two recolors, Convoy Black and King Grimlock. So they may do a new mold soon. I also think a Coronation Starscream (akin to King Grimlock) isn't out of the question at this point.

I definitely think they will do a comic interpretation of the whomever that masterpiece character is. Also I'd like to see the boxes more like a modern interpretation of g1 boxes, but thats just minute detailing on my part.

 

I like the idea someone stated before about the rest of the Dinobots getting the masterpiece treatment, now that would make a great display!

 

i'm willing to bet its something along the line of rodimus or galvatron. The interview posted on Takara recently suggested that...

 

I hope we see a Soundwave or a Galvatron! Those would be great!

 

I'd buy either of those in a second. I've never really been a Rodimus fan. He's too whiny.

I'm going to weigh in with my usual MP-speculation-thread comment that MP Rodimus Prime or Galvatron are most likely, for the same reasons I've rambled on about in previous MP threads.

Last time I heard anything about any new Masterpieces, it was that MP Grimlock would get a U.S. release... which I hope to get.


I would sure love to see a Masterpiece Galvatron. That, and a Masterpiece Soundwave and Blaster, with their cassette-tape minions included.  

 

What would be more appropriate for the movie year celebration (2010) than a... bum! bum! bum!

MASTERPIECE UNICRON

Easily one of the most epic, recognizable characters of transformers lore. He would have to be as tall as prime in order to work (12" tall.)

Soundwave has been demanding a Masterpiece ever since they released Megatron.

Blaster would be awsome to of course.

 

Soundwave that actually plays tapes, including the minions.

 

Maybe not all minions, but definatly Ravage and Laserbeak.

 

2010? That seals it then, MP Wheelie....

 

If they do make a MP soundwave, they could make the original four because rmble and frenzy would be the same mold. And if they did blaster, same would go for rewind and eject too. 3 molds 4 characters. Each side. Sounds soooo good to me.

 

I'm still all for Soundwave, but if it's a season 3 character? Gotta go with Galvatron!
