    "The humans have taken it!"
"I live to serve you Lord Megatron."

    Starscream And Megatron - YouTube

Here, Starscream has a more... robotic voice.
I actually like his voice in the 2007 movie, and I would of loved it to of been carried on.

Here we have a clip of his ROTF voice, which carried into DOTM.

Revenge of the Fallen Starscream and Megatron rooftop - YouTube

His voice has changed... it seems less "robotic", it's kind of hard to explain.
Anyway, to the whole point of this thread, do you have any theories on what happened to Starscreams voice, movie wise?

It's a change most of the returning bots went through for ROTF - less processing, so more of the voice actor's actual voice is there, and not just mechanical Soundwave kind of stuff. It's particularly noticeable in Optimus, Megatron and Starscream.

I actually like Adler's voice without the heavy processing - because I can actually TELL it's Adler voicing Starscream. I absolutely hated the heavy processing used in the ROTF games.

I think it's most likely because he had more than like one line in RotF. The different voice makes Starscream more unique.

    This.

Optimus sounds much better in RotF and DotM for this very reason.

As cool as his voice did sound in the first movie, it really wasn't very Starscream-y. The ROTFDOTM version was a better fit.

Personally I like his voice in movie 1. Although the other voices suit him better in rotf and dotm I still prefer his movie 1 voice

Personally, I'm okay with the sniveling voice he had in ROTF and DOTM, but I really wish they'd have at least made it sound robotic. That goes for all the other voices.

I mean, James Earl Jones as Darth Vader's voice - you can still tell it's him, but it's got that resonance that makes him sound more mechanical.

Starscream didn't speak enough for me to notice any differences between movies.

Screamer's ROTF and DOTM voices sucked. The 2007 one was the way to go.

Agreed. It might be the "geewunner" in me, but I like my Transformers to have a noticeable background synthesized effect on their voices.

I agree with Nachtsider and Incepticon. ROTF onwards sounds too much like Scarecrow from Batman: Arkham Asylum. That isn't neccassarily a bad thing but I prefer the '07 voice.

As noted elsewhere routinely, the first movie was easily the most hardcore-badass portrayal of Starscream as a serious, deadly, and intimidating threat.

So his voice was tailored to fit that portrayal.

The later sequels however were fairly overpopulated with big, scary, evil Decepticons, freeing up Starscream to take on more of a sniveling and comically bumbling role more in line with his classic and familiar portrayal from the the G1 cartoon.

So his voice was thereafter altered to reflect that side more readily.

That's how I've always viewed the change, at least.

Hope that helps to make sense of it for you.

    :)

I liked the 2007 voice way better it was deeper and more threatening in contrast to his whimpy voice for a massive raptor that he was,

I completely agree, the character was ruined after the first movie.

It's a shame, Starscream had quite a bit of potential.

Yeah, I've always hated this too. I wish they'd kept his voice from the first movie. It sounded so bad ass. And the people that say he sounded less robotic and more like himself in the second two, #1. This is not the G1 cartoon as been pointed out numerous times, and #2. He's a robot. I never really noticed too much a difference with Optimus, but Megatron's voice sounded cooler in the first movie as well.

I thought that it was only in the Russian dubbing his voice changed :)  But in general new one is better to fit.

I think it was to make him sound more unique, I mean, any con could've had his TF07 voice, but the ROTF/DOTM voice... you could tell it's starscream.

I am probably the only one who loved the ROTF game voice. I thought it was very different take on Starscream and made him sound more evil then megatron.
