Now I've had the chance to own most of the TFA stuff off the shelf I realised how shoddy some of the stuff I bought from Heero and TFCCLub were, they were loose, had bad joints and paint apps, I dont really mind as I had a blast but I was wondering if anyone else had noticed the difference.

Oddly enough, all of mine have been BETTER than some of the stuff I've pulled off the shelf.

    Ebay:
The only figure I got again was bulkhead, and his joints are a lot tighter. And a lot of the things that form his backback don't flail around when I move the figure around. I might get a cybertron prime if I see one though, my heero one has a few loose joints as well.

I'd have to agree, my pre-release stuff from Heero is all in great shape, tight joints, good paint... no sticky paint... *shakes fist at Soundwave*

I ebayed Voyager Prime, Bumblebee, Starscream, Prowl, and Soundwave prerelease and then had to buy them all from the store for my son. The ones I bought from the store, straight out of the package had very loose joints and such. So , I'm ok with my pre-purchases.

I never ended up buying anything early, but I think it's safe to say that you guys probably got the same approximate quality as the figures bought directly from the store. There's soo much variation in QC lately I can't see any reason why your figures would be any worse or any better than the packaged ones. It's really a crap shoot as to how the figures will hold up I think.

The only real reason I could see as to why your figures are in better condition would be that either your seller had checked them before sending them to you and made sure they were in good condition (the obvious benefit of having the figures out of package), or the lack of them being forced into the packaging by the factory workers actually reduced the stresses on them overall.

Again, I never bought any loose figures off ebay, but I just thought I might add some outside perspective.

    Mixed bag for me:

    My Ebay Specials:
    * Voyager Bulkhead - screws missing out of one arm, great after adding some
    * Voyager Optimus Prime - better (non-loose joints) than store-bought Primes I've gotten since
    * Voyager Grimlock - Same, no better, no worse
    * Leader Bulkhead - missing the little crest on top of the head, otherwise same as store-bought
    * Deluxe Swoop - something wrong with ball-joint at neck, the head falls off easily.

Final score: 2 with 'issues', 1 with an easily-fixable issue, 1 equal, 1 better.

The only early one I got was voyager Starscream and the quality is comparable to my store purchase. No loosness, every thing is fine. I also got him from heerotoysmaker.

Yep, no complaints about my pre-release either. All in great shape, except for the chipped auotobot logo on Sentinel and his poorly painted weapons. There's the usual loose joints on Soundwave and Prowl, but i fixed it and its not as bad as having the limbs constantly pop out like some people have.

Even the figures i got from retail (Lockdown, Leader Megs, Oilslick) are in pretty decent shape. I must've been super lucky, or some f you guys are really exaggerating.

Only one i bought early was soundwave. i don't want another off the shelf, so i have no idea how to compare.

Still no regrets though. soundwave is the ass kicker.
