My sister, who was a huge Trekkie, passed away earlier this year. I inherited her collection of Star Trek TNG toys, books and paraphernalia.

While I miss her dearly, I do not have any interest for these things. I've got monthly US and Canada fanclub magazines, a shitload of collectors cards, a few toys still in their packaging, etc.

So I'm not too sure what to do with these. Any help would be appreciated!

Sorry to hear about your loss! :(  I am a pretty big TNG fan and can tell you as someone who's made the majority of the TNG toy purchases over the last 3-4 months that these toys don't sell for very much money. I've picked up most of my figures sealed from eBay for around $4. I even picked up an Enterprise MIB for about $15. eBay is crawling with these toys, so if you're just looking to unload them your best bet is to sell them as a lot.

Sorry to hear your news. About the stuff, though, your best bet would probably be to take pictures of everything, go to a dedicated Star Trek board, and post them there. I'm sure people can help you ID everything.

Sorry for your loss man, I'd think that going to a Trekkie forum or convention would yield the best results

    Ebay:
Have you tried swinging by the Comic Book Shoppe on Bank or Clyde? Maybe they might be interested in buying the collection from you or trading for stuff. Maybe even Toys on fire might be interested.

    Ebay:
Hook, if you have any of the ship modelkits, those actually DO fetch a good price, especially if they're older. Some of the playmates ships might as well.

Sell the ships and the tech on Starship Modeler - Your Complete Information Source for Science Fiction, Fantasy and Real Space Scale Modeling. You'll probably be able to fetch a slightly higher price (or, if nothing else, move product faster) over there.

You could probably list the mags on craigslist and get a fast return. I'm not sure how much you'd want to put on them, but if you said $25-$50 for a box, I'm pretty sure you'd have somebody spring for them. For some reason, most Trekkies I've had experience with actually avoid eBay and stick to Craigslist to snipe shit that people list as 'Star Trek - no clue what this is' type of shit.

The figures, unfortunately, just aren't worth a lot. Playmates chugged out a shitload of TNG figs and everybody lists them on The Bay as "RARE COLLECTIBLE L@@K" bullshit every day. You could see if a toy store will take 'em, or list 'em as a lot here on TFW.

Other Trek forums where you could list your shit include...

The Trek BBS - Powered by vBulletin
TrekWeb - Star Trek, J.J. Abrams, Spock, Kirk, Uhura
Star Trek Homepage (official site - I think they have a B/S/T forum)
