I was just thinking about the new ThunderCats series. Then it hit me, Bandai released their toys already, and the series has only started for 5 weeks.

TFP started like 6 months ago.

So, what's the holdup on the TFP toys?

Is it because they wanted to focus on the DOTM toys first?

From what I've heard, the 1st wave of TFP toyline won't be released before the coming December.

Couldn't they release the TFP toys earlier. Or is it a business tactic? Hold the best for Christmas?

Or they have more to release from DOTM?

I think it's because they don't want the movie toys to overshadow the Prime line. I believe something similar happened with Animated.

More people see the movies, so the toys sell better. It's one of the reasons Animated kicked the bucket.

Also because Hasbro wants to show that the Prime fiction isn't dependent on the toy sales, seeing as they're trying to reinvent themselves as an entertainment company rather than simply a toy one.

Partly because of development and prduction times. The other part is as others have said DOTM. Third is that Prime is just getting to the end of season on and we know for sure a season 2 and it will more than likely continue so there was no need to rush the toys to the market like with the movie toys.

If there were not dark of the moon toys out now I would love to see if they still would have waited, it would have been interesting to see if then they would have braved season 1 with no toys.

It's not like an end of the world kind of thing to wait a while anyway tbh.

    A) to make a big advertising push to coincide with the release of season 2
    B) to sell more DOTM toys (which are shelfwarming in almost every store I've been to.)
    C) Hasbro hates money (see: Nintendo of America, Nintendo 3DS release, Operation Rainfall)

It's driving me up a wall. I can't wait to add Screamer and Arcee to my collection (and then later, Knockout).

Hey, at least I'm saving money. I've only bought 2 DOTM toys so far and have absolutely no drive to pick up any more.

But I wanna buy practically all of the Prime toys I've seen so far.

I know where you're going with this, and let me say once again that if we don't get a Mirage out if this line I'll eat my ROTF Leader Prime.

I need a time machine to go to December.

The only toys I want from TFP line are Optimus, Arcee, and Megatron.

I think you had a combination of factors.

With it being unclear as to when there might be another live action Transformers movie it's likely Hasbro wanted to make all they could off of the movie line since retailers go insane with over ordering when it comes to movie related toys.

Retailers were likely to put their shelf space to movie related toys so Hasbro didn't want a situation where retailers said we will take those movie toys but pass on your Transformers Prime toys.

With the horrid production schedule and airing on a cable channel that virtually no one can see, it's hard enough generating interest in the series itself, let alone trying to get some visibility for said practically nonexistent series' toyline in retail space choking w/ shelfwarmers of the "popular" versions of the characters.

Once DOTM mania calms down, they'll swap in Prime product on the TF pegs, and that will the point when most people will be introduced to TFP. Hopefully by then The Hub might be in a few more homes and might also have a decent que of episodes to hold the interest these badass toys will most definitely generate.

screw the prime toys...they can wait...hasbro is freaking STUPID crazy if they end the DOTM toy line 6 scant months after the movie showed...fucking crazy LOL

they have already publicly committed to folks that the prime series is going to mutiple years in duration..the toys can wait several months...plus you do not want to have 2 prominent lines fighting for limited dollars around the holiday shopping season...i would be fine with prime not getting released until next spring...they are not going anywhere...
