I heard from a friend that one of the 3rd parties plans to do a replacement inner bot to take the place of the drone on this mold, and possibly a better head for Metalhawk. I have searched TFW high and low for more info on this. Is there any truth to this story? My friend is usually pretty good about knowing what is coming, so I'm inclined to have faith in this. Especially since I would love for it to be true!

Idk about an inner bot, but I can totally see an putter shell for them. Now that would be icing on the cake where Has/Tak fail to complete like it should have been from the get-go!!

I'm fine with their current size, plus an outer shell wouldn't look right due to the current robot not being an accurate representation of the old-school inner robot. If a 3rd party does an outer shell, they will need to design an all-new inner robot also. I could see one of the smaller companies like Headrobots or Mastershooter making a drone replacement and selling it for $20-$25 easily. The little Black Shadow and Thunderwing bots could be straight up repaints, while Metalhawk could be a slight retool and sell for $40 in more limited quantities if necessary.

I'd love to see a replacement drone that transforms into a little robot. Probably a company like Headrobots or Junkion Blacksmith could do this. Just make one mold and release it in grey, black and white or whatever colors.

So, just a minicon that turns into the drone then?

    Meh. Rather have Stormbringer armor.

Also, outside of posts saying they would like a transformable drone or a better head for Metalhawk, I've not seen any company with plans to make either

I'm kind of surprised no one's done that yet. It's pretty obvious, and people would eat it up.

I'd like it because it would be a simple add-on, lost costing part to add to an existing Transformer to give it back it's full features as a "Pretender".

Am I made or have I already seen someone make some kind of home made WST Metalhawk inner robot ?

Perhaps 80's Pretenders is really fun idea for faux WST's in general ? They are simple enough to work at the small scale I'd say.

Stormbringer armor AND a drone minicon would comprise a very nice upgrade.

I'm fine with the dlx one as are, if any one does a "real" thunderwing though he'd need to be a completely new tooling at atleast ultra size point with inner robot a largeish basic.

I would be down for this upgrade in an instant, but I don't think we've seen any plans for one.
