As in, the flames on Prime's truck? I painted my Voyager Prime up all purdy in 'bot mode, and now his truck mode just falls flat in comparison. I'd love to be able to spray paint it a nice glossy red and blue (and add the badly-needed yellow gradient to the front)...but I have no idea how I'd go about putting the flames back.

Any neat masking tricks or anything?

    same trick airbrushers use.

    apply mask.

    print pattern.

overlay pattern over mask on media.

    cut. peel.

    paint.

Sooooo... let me see if I have the order right here....

    from bottom to top:

toy with first coat of paint already applied + dried
some sort of solid sticky sheet firmy stuck to toy
a printout of the flame pattern

And then you cut through the printout and the sticky sheet at the same time I suppose?

yes. go to art shop and ask them for the sticky sheet they use for airbrushing. its special cuz if you just use regular stuff the fineness of the spray at this level of detailing youll get bleeding along the edges.

or just google up airbrushing techniques.

the basic of airbrushing is basically using masking tehniques to create shapes with the advantage of spray painting to create gradients. besides masking sheets they also use masking fluids for smaller/intricate detail.

    and now you know.
