Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I'm having trouble tracking down information on any upcoming Crossovers (Star Wars, Marvel, etc.) transformers in 2012. Are those lines dead/sleeping?

Haven't heard any stirrings myself. Which bums me out - on the one hand, few of the Crossovers toys really appealed to me, but on the other hand, they were beginning to show some major potential with some of the later releases.

Maybe we'll hear something at BotCon or, barring that, SDCC?

There should be some more small ones sometimes - as for the bigger ones - you might find something shown in May for the Star Wars convention.

But I find it odd there is not more about what with the Star Wars 3D movies and all this marvel Stuff about.

I suspect the high price is putting retailers off ordering them.

I, personally, would REALLY like to see some Marvel Crossovers in the new basic size. Heck, with the Avengers movie coming out soon, it'd be a great time.

Here's hoping that a surprise GI Joe/Transformers Crossover will come out thanks to GI Joe Retaliation. If there's any one thing that's PERFECT for a crossover with Transformers, it is GI Joe.

While things could change, Hasbro's been on record for saying that they've purposefully avoided the obvious GIJoe/Transformers Crossover toyline because they wish for GIJoe to be able to stand on its own, rather than risk having it tied to the hip with Transformers.

Given that Transformers is doing better than ever, while GIJoe's presence has been fading as of late, that concern is probably more valid than ever.

Two SDCC exclusives in as many years notwithstanding.

Those being the exceptions, mind you. Being a limited run exclusive intended exclusively for the franchise-aware customers, Hasbro has nothing to fear about the confluence of brands. It's when the mass-market presence becomes conjoined that there's a problem.

(I know you're not disagreeing with me, I'm just expanding)

As for as I know, the only ones coming out are those Jumpstarter-styled Marvel figures, but they're not branded as Transformers.

    Most Crossovers sucked.

Except for the Iron Man Car and Captain America Humvee and even then they weren't great.

You didn't buy Tank Hulk. Shame on you. Better toy than a good percentage of mainline TFs, that one.

I'm curious to see how they'll expand on the smaller Star Wars size class.
