Have any movies ever been been filmed in your town? The scene in Big where Josh wants to be a kid again was filmed at the board walk at an amusemnet park in my town, and the Roller Coaster scene from Fatal Attraction was filmed at the same amusement park.

The "San Diego" part of The Lost World Jurassic Park was shot in my town, except for the dock parts though that was probably on a sound stage in Burbank. When it came out I was in elementary school and it was awesome seeing a T-Rex rampaging through downtown.

The first "Back to the Future" was filmed at the my local mall back in the early 80s. I've since moved but it was still cool to watch that scene where the DeLorean made the first time travel in that parking lot and knowing it's only 20 mins from my home.

'Entrapment' was shot at the Petronas Twin Towers, which isn't too far away from where I live.

In Savannah we've had several movies filmed:

    Roots
    Glory
Forrest Gump (Almost hit Tom Hanks with my car, Sorry Tom it was dark)
    The General's Daughter
    The Legend of Baggar Vance
    The Gift
    Cape Fear (1962)
Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil
    Now and Then
    Something to Talk About
    Wild America
    The Gingerbread Man
    Forces of Nature
The Conspirator (To be released later this year)

There are more, but these are the one's I can currently remember.

I live in Los Angeles, so...

...but I grew up in San Antonio, and they shot Knight Rider 2000 there when I was in middle school. That was pretty tight.

Yep. My town doubled as all the towns except for two in Costner's The Postman, and the dam town was built on part of the spillway of one of the local dams. The majority of the townspeople were extras, or otherwise employed in the making of the movie. And the local Lions' Club train was in Benny & Joon, tho that engine is gone.

There are also people who swear up and down that Mel Gibson was here a few months ago, walking up and down the two-block main street for some reason with some of his guys. Of course it had to be one of the few days out of the month that I'm out of town, and no one's heard anything about what they were doing here since.

Not many movies have been filmed in Kansas City. There was a small, independent film called, "Kansas City" and I believe a scene from "Public Enemies" was shot in our downtown.

Not sure about movies, but I was an extra in a TV show called 'Roughnecks' in the early/mid 90's. It was about (as the title suggests) oil workers, they filmed bits of it here in Aberdeen, 'The Oil Capital of Europe.'

Starred Ashley Jensen, who you Americans may recognise from Ugly Betty.

I've got footage somewhere, but I've got a terrible haircut (yes, even worse than presently!), so won't be posting it.

Let's see, the new Battle for Los Angeles just finished up filming in my area, and moved to another town in my state. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button filmed in New Orleans, as did the Dukes of Hazzard.

There's been a lot more movies filmed in the Shreveport area lately. My best friend was asked to be an extra for Harold & Kumar 2 while walking through Wal-Mart. Kinda wish I still lived there so I could get a chance to be an extra.

    The Book of Eli
    The Spirit
    Wild Hogs
    Both Transformers movies
The Men Who Stare At Goats
    21 Grams
some Steven Segal movie that went direct-to-DVD
    The Spy Next Door
First Snow (and I know the screenwriter/producer!)
    Observe & Report

(To my knowledge, "parts" of these movies--if not the whole thing--were filmed here or there was reshoots/postproduction done at the Q Studios here, so I don't know if whoever's keeping score is gonna count that.)
