When I first saw Ironhide buy the cybertronian farm and rust away I felt a little bit of glee. Jazz got the business from Megatron way back in TF07 but now I feel a little bit of redemption that Ironhide got the Rust-Eeze Ray of Death shoved through his back! Woo Woo!

Wouldn't your sense of vengeance have been better served by Megatron's death? It's not like Ironhide killed Jazz.

Well looking at it from an inside the movie perspective that would make sense. But from my fan boy perspective I was a little pleased.

It's all good. Just a random thought I had. It's been what 4 years since the "meaningless" death of Jazz. For me it just felt right that another semi-major Autobot got the business :)

Yes. Jazz was boss and the third coolest Autobot besides Ratchet and Jolt.

I demand the fourth movie to have Jazz voiced by Chris Rock.

You realize Ironhide isn't the one who killed Jazz, right?

I like Jazz, I like Ironhide. I just gotta ask, OP:

WHYYYY??? Why would you be glad Jazzie's best bud bit the bullet?

    Haha Chris Rock...

Jazz really never got any love and the whole series has featured Ironhide and Ratchet ( who never fixes jack). It was just cool to see Ironhide get it too like there wasn't any favoritism shown in the end.

Hey, but seriously if it was up to me I'd have kept the main core characters living throughout the movies.

Anybody could die outside of Bumblee and Prime in these movies

Yeah, that's not favoritism at all!

Well, in the FIRST first Transformers movie, Ironhide dies and Jazz lives. I like that death the best. Ironhide's mortally wounded, still trying to fight Megatron, and he gets a fusion cannon blast point-blank and a badass "Such heroic nonsense" kill line.

Movie deaths look like a bunch of metal bananas being peeled by CGI monkeys by comparison. There's rarely any closeup shot, killer or victim. Lacks gravitas.

Let's look at it another way. Say if Ironhide died in the first movie ala Jazz and you are an Ironhide fan wouldn't you be a tad bit disappointed. Then down the line another key autobot dies and then it seems kinda fair.

Of course this could all just be my solo opinion. We all look a things a bit differently sometimes.

To be fair, the cartoon Ironhide getting blasted by Megatron moved me because I was really young and that was the first time a cartoon character I liked got blown to robobits. I was like HOLY SH*! And the way he blew up you knew he wasn't coming back.

Jazz barely got away in the 86 movie but by then the series had taken a turn for the worst because basically Rodimus wasn't as cool as Prime.

Fast forward to the new movie and I wish all the core characters could live on. I thought Ironhide was awesome! But if one autobot has to go I don't mind seeing a couple more catch death too. Just seems fair.

Maybe you like Jazz more BECAUSE he dies, he went up against a foe much stronger than him with courage and sacrificed his life for friends and cause. I believe Jazz had the better death, instead of being cut down by someone he thought was an ally.

Good points. Now that I'm thinking about it, did Ironhide kill any decepticons in the entire series?
