I just saw the photos posted on the front page, showing Unicron in package at the Hasbro booth at SDCC. The packaging has a 25th Anniversary of Transformers the Movie logo on it.

Do you think there will be other toys to commemorate this anniversary? Let the speculation begin . . .

I imagine the US release of Rodimus is associated with this monumentous occasion.

Indeed, but none have fallen under that packaging label yet, and I don't remember seeing it on the Rodimus package.

I'm talking about specifically branded toys.

It sure looks like it could be the case. With Wreck Gar, Kup, Scourge, a new Rodimus/Hot Rod and Cyclonus already out, it would seem like there is a trend for such a thing. A Generations Arcee or Springer would be AMAZING!

I'm still hoping that there will be a Generations Springer figure, as well as a new Galvatron (at least a repaint, since I missed the first one). I also want a Generations Arcee, of course, and Hasbro hinted at something for Arcee at the end of the year at Botcon this year. Those would pretty much complete the TF:TM cast, at least for new characters.

I saw that too - and wondered the exact same thing. Hopefully someone at SDCC can get more information!

And, while we're at it, an updated blu-ray of the 1986 movie!

Well we already got Kup, Rodimus, Blurr, Wreck-Gar, Scourge, and Cyclonus. Its sad that these weren't released as Movie Anniversary.

I forget, did Universe/Classics 2 Galvatron have a 25th Anniversary tag on the corner of the card? Pretty sure Cyclonus did. They may not be technically celebrating the movie's anniversary, but they were celebrating the overall brands anniversary. And I think they said all the movie characters in Generations/RtS were specifically there due to 2010 being the movie's anniversary.

The "25th" tag on the Universe figures was just for the toyline itself, which (in 2009?) was the 25th anniversary of the Transformers franchise as a whole.

I wouldn't be surprised if we get some sort of multi-pack with some of the Universe/Generations Season 3 characters, not unlike the e-Hobby threepacks we got a while back.

Well, let's see...in the time between you posting a thread about this at 4:19 and then posting this identical thread 19 minutes later...no, there haven't been any more 25th anniversary toys since that time.

Working on clearing that up. I only posted it once, and the website had a traffic issue - next thing I see, it is actually posted 3 times :( . I've contacted the mod about this.

I have to assume that some kind of Galvatron in the cards. Too much Rodimus love to ignore ol' crazy-crown for this long.

On what basis? It's been specifically said by reliable sources. there is no MP Galvatron even in early development stages,

And if you want to go like for like otherwise, what do they do re-release Univ Galvatron? Because i can think of few toys that receive more of a pasting on this board.

Perhaps someone else would like to chip in with ideas such as:

    1) Re-release Energon Galvatron becasue i'm a super hardcore fan but don't want to pay aftermarket prices.
    2) Make a new Voyager Galvatron
    3) Make a bigger Rodimus that's not quite Masterpeice to go with 1) or 2).

I'd love to see a Wreck-Gar w/Junkions three-pack, ideally with different decoes than the carded releases. Sounds like a perfect release to go with the same theme as the Unicron release. And a Scourge/Sweeps three-pack as well.

On the basis that the topic at hand seemed to be "who do you think is coming out"? I didn't know I had to have a really good reason, but if you insist:

Yes, Universe Galvatron is much-reviled. That hardly makes him an unpopular character. A retool of WFC Megatron for instance would likely be quite warmly received, certainly by me. Also: Masterpieces are always "not coming" until they are. "Reliable Sources" are often cagey like that (yes, I, too, read these boards and know who's supposed to be a "player." I'm aware of the statements).

Point is, it would make a certain amount of sense, given the releases of Kup, Scourge, Cyclonus, Blurr, Wreck-Gar, his Junkion pal, Unicron and multiple Rodimii in the recent past/near future. There have also been reasonably direct suggestions that MP Ultra Magnus is in the cards (or at least on the table) from the same "sources" you cite as well as some playful Arcee rumors. That leaves only Galvatron and Springer conspicuous by their absence. No, I would not be super surprised if my stunning prediction turned out to be a pipe dream. Many of my predictions do. Still makes sense.

But I'm sorry I pissed you off. Somehow. Evidently.
