I am just serious if any one else on the board is a fan of the series.

As for me I have been a fan since the original Arcade game and spent many a quarter in it. The NES ports were a bit of a disappointment to me but still fun. When Gauntlet legends came out in the arcades i was like hell yeah sign me up!

Even more so when it came out on the N64/PS1 and the remix called Dark Legacy on the PS2 and Gamecube. ands the Gauntlet 7 sorrows is great as well.

    Any other fans here?

I'm a huge Gauntlet fan. Really wish that there would be a good current gen version of it.

I've always enjoyed the series for what it is.
Shame that like Beastbox said there's no real good current gen version.
Heck, I'd be happy with a XBL/PSN version of Legend (I think was the N64 one) or Dark Legacy with some on-line support and maybe some graphical polish.

Dark Legacy was awesome. I was so disappointed that Seven Sorrows wasn't anything like it. I probably played through DL like 8 times my first year of college. My roommate had a multi-tap so we would have some major chaos on screen.

I played it on the Amiga, I also loved Chaos Engine which was basically Gauntlet with guns :D

I'm a big fan of the original classic.... the level designs were really original and made the game a lot of fun.

There's a comic store near me that has an arcade cabinet for Gauntlet. Sadly it doesn't work. It needs a new CRT. :(

I poured countless numbers of quarters in the original arcade machine @ Putt Putt Golf & Games as a kid. Gauntlet was one of the first XBLA games I downloaded when I got a 360. Sadly though no one plays it online anymore...

Its the first game that had a 4 player option i can remeber.

It was the game that everyone played in the local arcade. People would just line up and take turns playing all 4 players untill we beat the game, people would play a few dollars worth then the next guy, I like the dwarf with the axe he was bad-ass.

Other cool games were , bad dudes, double dragon, final fight, vigilante, operation wolf, Then later towards 1990 street fighter 2 took over...then i got a super nintendo and we all played at my house instead of the arcade...

now in my old age i like the pinball style games...
