I was wondering if anyone had news, or would care to speculate on if/when we would see the Chevy Aveo Stateside?

Things leading me to assume i should be:
    1. Instructions - Transformers Universe line which is the current line right now.
    2. Hasbro doesn't make new molds without selling them everywhere they can and then repainting it.

Anyone else thinking/hopping its coming soon?

    1. It's the old Universe line, not the current one, 2 different things/
    2. No, just no

I just dno't think it looks impress enough for me to spend so much money. I think its appeal is how limited it was.

Your first point is pretty well thought out and makes a good point. I'm not sure I understand your second point.

I personally would really like to see a version of this toy stateside, as I think it looks cool.

It would depend if Chevrolet/GM ownes the mold and rights to the figure. So far they were released as promotions to sell cars. If Chevy gave Hasbro a huge chunk of money to design the toy, then Hasbro most likely wouldn't hold the rights to it and cannot release it without Chevy's consent. If Hasbro does hold the rights to the figure they can do what they want with it. This figure was unique in that it was the first new mold give away to promote the Chevy Aveo that wasn't a repaint or retool of an existing TF.

errrr i didn't have an answer and when i find myself in that situation, i usually just do the typical, "no, just, no" while nodding my head to make me sound smart.

    sorry bout that, lol!

Aveo Swerve appears to be a special case, as it was a commissioned promotional item for GM of a GM car. That alone makes it much less likely that it would be put out in a regular release to toy stores.

If (large if) the mold made another appearance outside of its promo item limbo, I suspect one of the following:
    * A remold version to change it enough that a license is not required.
    * A possible "off-screen character" for the 2009 movie line, given that there would be a lot of GM licensed vehicles in that toyline anyway, so maybe Hasbro can get a bulk rate or something. :)

Pretty much this not knowing what kind of legal hang-ups the mold has. I wouldn't say it's impossible though so who knows.

yeah, this is similar to the question of wheter the Thrust mold from Botcon can be used again. Like with the convention, Hasbro has a exclusive deal with Chevy/ GM, so don't expect this Swerve to be sold in reatail. Also, much like the tooling for the Thrust wings, the mold was probably destroyed, if it hasn't been degraded from costant use.

Very unlikely that you'll ever see this at normal retail.
It's even more excusive than the botcon exclusives.
Only shot we'd probably have would be if chevy
used it here in states for a promotion like they did overseas.
Most likely the mold is gone now.
Hasbro made this on commission for chevy.
Chevy owns the toys and the molds.
Best, probably only way of getting this in US is ebay.
