well my trial thing of trend micro runs out soon and i need to find a new virus program and since we use norton, and I dont like it what other options are there out there that are good? I've tried AVG but it really messed up my old comp when we used it so I am probably going to avoid it. Anyway any help would be apprecated thanks...

I use AVG on both my comps and no real problems. Except, it does slow down other programs you are using at the moment while it's scanning for viruses.

I actually dont look at it, but I dont want what happend to my old computer (ie learning how to use it, what spyware does to it etc, etc, etc) to happen to my laptop. That said at the same time never know what people who i may let use this will look at better safe then sorry

Word. I've been using their free version for a long-ass time and it's awfully nice. Gets the job done in terms of keeping your computer virus-free.

AVG rules. Automatic updates take care of everything and I've never had a proble. Try it again man.

I used the free version of AVG for several years without any trouble. NOD32 reputedly has the smallest memory footprint and CPU use, so I'm using that right now. It seems to get database updates at least a couple times every day, so the downloads are tiny and fast and shouldn't interfere with normal PC use if you have broadband.
