i apologize if this has been shwn before. so here is a simple mod you can do to make Ole Sideswipe more G1. all it really involves is swapping stuff so that it is backwards and also one simple cut.

basically just swap his hands to the opposite sides like so:


then youll need to make a cut in the area shown to allow the trunk to fold up closer to the body like so:


next just rotate his head backwards



and then rotate his torso backwards as well



and thats all there is to it, i think he looks much better this way despite the fact that his hood isnt on his chest, rather his trunk but that cant be helped. hope you found this informative and cheers!

Cool! Eventually I plan on making my alt sideswipe into a human alliance toy. I'll have to keep this in mind...

 

goddamn I recently gave away all of my alt's since   MAN!!!
this would have made it far more attractive to have several of the same molds
(I could have used a KO for Red Alert)

 

Very nice - even though it is the back of the car and sticks up a bit it certainly helps make Sideswipe look more like his original design. And seeing him next to Sideswipe is great!

yeah man Alternators rule. I mean a realistic vehicle with realistic interior, working steering and reformatted G1 characters. what's not to love about them? they are far better than human alliance imho

I just got into Alternator's about 6 months ago, so it is really nice to see a mod to such a kick ass line.

 

What's funny is that this is true, but there are so many here that weren't here back then that it is news again for those people. It's like in pro-wrestling, all the angles can be recycled after about 7 years. And let's be honest, this was a mod that a lot of people liked/did, so if people who never caught it the first time are seeing it now, I say good to the OP for posting it.

 

With the trunk mod, the hood mod, black cast arming kit and one of the white outline on clear stock autobot decals from reprolabels (I have about 8 sheets of these...) My Alt. SS looks killer. Will have to post a pic later.

I thank the OP for this as that;s what I will be doing with my Alt Sideswipe (if I can ever get hold of one).

And yes, Alternators is one of the BEST line in TF Toy history.
