Seeker's don't necessarily have to be jets though do they? What would the Autobots equivalent of a seeker be?

I would hazard a guess that the Autobot Seeker equivalent would be the Car brothers: Prowl, Silver/Bluestreak, and Smokescreen.

I think the only fiction in which the Seeker name is applied to any Autobots is in Shattered Glass.

Otherwise they're always in reference to Decepticon jet troopers.

The closest thing is the aerialbots.

There's that old car fella seen in the photo in ROTF. Still a Decepticon, sort of, but not a jet.

I'm not sure why you brought him up. What's your point? He's not named as a Seeker.

It doesn't have to be called a seeker, but I'm just wondering what the Autobot's equivalent would be. Some how I don't see the Aerialbots as seekers.

I guess the closest thing to an Autobot equivalent would be the Minibots. As they are the only specific type of Autobot that seem to share any sort of classification or specialty, which is being smaller than everyone else, without being Combiners.

I can't remember if he's named specifically as one but weren't those old vehicle guys in the photos in Simmons' storeroom supposed to all be Seekers?

No, they were all just Transformers that were on Earth before the discovery of Megatron and the Autobots.

Fair enough. Was only a vague recollection anyway.

The only Seeker in that sequence was the biplane, which I think was suppose to be Ransack.

I might be thinking of the movie tie-in comics or something then.

Wheelie calls all the old Transformers in RotF Seekers. In the movie-verse, being a Seeker means you seek out other planets. Their alt modes don't have to be planes (remember, all movieverse TFs have a flying-through-space mode).

As for Autobot G1-style "Seekers," I seem to recall WfC or Exodus or one of those things talking about how the pre-war Seekers were divided in loyalty between the Autobots and the Decepticons.

As mentioned, Exodus calls pretty much everything with a flying jet mode a Seeker. Jetfire and the Aerialbots were Seekers according to it.

Could Jetfire and/or Powerglide be considered a seeker?

Possibly. Depends on G1 or Movie?
But, yes, I would think he's a Seeker.

Powerglide's probably a former conehead. Those guys HATE him!
