Even if you can fix it anyway, the cannon wont fit the insert anymore.
You know the price they have on this set they could have retooled the molds to fix all these problems. Thanks for letting us all know about this defect.
It won't fit b/c of the size of the peg? Or what reason? The only diff i notice in the pics is that the vertical piece appears backwards, but i assume that the cannon can flip over to the other side? Dunno since i don't own one. Thought about getting this, but with all these issues, i had to get bbts credit back.
I dont think it can flip over. thats how people noticed this issue.
I really hope you are right, but...
I'll have to take what you tell me since i don't and never have owned one before. That's just ridiculous if it's the case. Such a simple error that ruins things. Good thing i cancelled mine in time.
I am very sure you can easily fix it by yourself.
the only problem is it wont fit the insert.
On the original the cannon is supposed to flip over for base mode, so I don't think this actually a defect.
then the horizontal part will be upside-down, right?
You know, I had this toy as a kid and found that mode to be so ridiculous that I think I only ever transformed it that way once or twice.
(which doesn't help with the question- except that I wouldn't be even slightly surprised if the canon flips over)
I still confident it wont be as bad as people fear...
Bruticus can't be any worse than my club seacons were, so many weapons and combiner parts didn't fit mine, I hope it is just typical nerd rage over nothing.
Hope I get mine soon, im sick of hearing so much bad but still havent seen a proper review, just a lot of people getting worked up and Sh**ing all over it.
To be fair, when the Encore Optimus Prime came out a few years ago the one I got was missing the canopy piece inside the trailer.
I was pissed.
It does flip over and it is backwards. Apparently mistransformed toys are now considered defects.
It would have been cool, but ended up ridiculous because the spring loaded launcher was removed by Hasbro, thus removing the entire point of the mode. They did it on the otehr "Scramble City" style combiners too.
*pulls out original G1 Onslaught just to check* The cannons CANNOT flip over. They go to about 45 degrees up and then stop because of the 2 protrusions on the back of the green parts. You can even SEE these protrusions in the photo.
Also, look at the pic of the instructions again; see all that detail on top of the cannons? None of that is on the bottom. If it was, you couldn't push the cannons back to lock them in place for Onslaught's robot mode.
And this isn't mistransformed; it's wrongly assembled. The piece the cannons are on is backwards.
the cannon has been assembled backwards. theres a couple of screws in the cannon that should allow it to be disassembled and fixed.
Does this affect it displaying in combined mode? That's all I want to be able to do.
That sucks!! THanks for the heads up. What a bummer.
Production defect. But it looks fixable.
yes it ie easy to fix, BUT
After you fix it, the toy won't be fit in the plastic tray anymore. The tray was made following the wrong position.
If you don't fix it, the cannon cannot be put in when Onslaught is in base mode.
wow, the tray conforms to the ill fitted part, thats quite a mess up on takaras part.
