Haven't seen this mentioned at all. I was fiddling with Megatron's fusion cannon to see if I could get it to combine better, and noticed his right arm has a trigger to make the mace swing. That black bit on the outside? You can push it back and forth to make the mace swing around. Here's the mace limp with my thumb on the button: And here it is with the button pushed up and the mace line is taut: By pushing and releasing the button, the mace swings all over. Not SUPER crazy or anything, but still kind of neat. Sorry for the picture quality. I'm at work and all I have is my cell phone camera.
Just curious, but is that really a "mace"? Isn't it just his claw on a cable? I know that we've seen him smashing things up in the trailer, but has anyone been able to confirm yet that it's actually his claw that's smashing up the building, or is it an autobot grasped in the claw being swung into things? Could it be Jazz, getting abused even more? zmog
Well, I'm not speaking for the movie since I haven't seen it yet. I refer only to the toy, where it's definitely a claw/mace (technically a morningstar, being on a cable.) The toy instructions refer to it as a "chain whip."
I actually think board member Megatroptimus discovered this feature in the Leader Megs feedback thread.
[trailer spoilers] In the trailer, Megatron throws and lands on Jazz at 2:08-2:09. At 2:10, Megatron swings something which destroys part of the edifice Sam is clinging to. If you watch it frame by frame at 2:10, it's easy to see Megatron is swinging something attached to a cable... it is NOT Jazz. Those scenes are from two different battles; Megatron vs. Jazz, and Megatron vs. Sam/Allspark. Just because they're shown near one another in the trailer doesn't mean they're part of the same sequence of events in the movie.
Yeah, I found his post about 15 minutes after I posted mine. Sorry Megatroptimus!! Yeah, see above. If I'd seen that before I noticed the feature I wouldn't have stolen your thunder on that. My apologies!
That reminds me of when I found out that you could open Powermaster Prime's trailer... like a year after I bought it.
Thats space is perfect for putting his larger head in. I wonder why it was made to open, as the inside isn't really large enough to put anything else in.
The instructions on my EU version don't even explain how to make the Fusion cannon. Just that it can be done, somehow, by doing something that involves the arms and folding the hands in. I think I figured it out based on the little picture on the box.
