I haven't made the leap to collecting any season 3 figures yet... but this seems like a really good place to start.

Also... I'm pretty glad that the title remains unchanged... since I am very happy with my THF products, it is good to distinguish this KO from the regular KO fodder.

I wonder if Infinite Transformation or Robothero will also make an offering?!

 

Tucking away the bemoaned 'butt flap' is a nice improvement but at $132 there's not even value in swapping.

There would have to be a series of upgrades to make me consider this- and so far it doesn't look like there are many.

As much as I love Faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaanstooooys and everything they do- their price points are all over the map and I have to agree with you. I found Koot for $115, Rouge for $99 and Apache for $134. They couldn't have locked in 3 more appealing prices? Would say $85, $100 and and $125 been unreasonable? I've yet to preorder/purchase any of them- and I'm fine with waiting.

 

Really want to get some kind of update on this. Magnus is the only movie-autobot I don't have an MP for and I'd rather get the improved KO than the flawed Takara and an upgrade kit.

The KO currently available and in stock is a direct KO of the Takara version and doesn't include any upgrades.

I know everyone is entitled to their opinion but I really like the original Ultra Magnus mold. I don't stare at his butt, so the butt flap while not ideal makes zero difference to me since as a big old bot - he's always in the back of the display regardless and nobody can see his flappy ass at all! I added the extra shoulder articualtion kit, big gun, and KFC hands, and he's a very nice bot and stands out because of his colors.

I agree that I'd prefer that the KO be cheaper, but it is what it is. I've got the original currently and am pretty happy with it. Fully recommend MP Ultra Magnus to anyone sitting on the fence. Definitely a nice figure.

To be clear, this thread is about the upcoming thf version with the fixed butt flap, not the existing straight ko. So to answer what's the point - the point is it's improved. Hopefully they'll also include the shoulder fixes and maybe even some other improvements.

 

The butt flap was a deal breaker for me. Now I can actually have an MP Magnus.

His waist doesn't look too narrow when his arms are more proportional to his body. FT fucked up big time there imo with arms that are nearly as long as his legs shit.

Regards this I'm intrigued on price. I'd totally paint up in toy colours, swap the fixed cab to the official and mod the white voyager mp10 to this trailer. Best of both worlds then and as a Magnus fan both visions realised.

I was really big into getting Magnus but, was sold a Stack for 1/3 of the price. I havent even thought about him since.

Gotcha. Loose but otherwise brand new. This isn't a KO version. These are unboxed but otherwise new bulk copies from the factory.

 

Its a KO. Lunchtime's from the reissues.

 

I think of them as factory seconds. Takara but with minor faults. I have a loose MP10 which is light years beyond the KO and the only issue is the cab doesnt quite meet 100% in alt mode, a few gaps. Have a sideswipe too that as far as I can tell is perfect, had the KO before.

For a figure you're not into these loose stock options are good
